Guide to the Klaviyo Integration
Klaviyo is an email direct marketing (EDM) tool that offers clients a wide range of benefits, including attractive email marketing templates, flexible automation flows, and forms. As a cost-effective and popular marketing tool, EDM has gained significant traction across various industries.
This article will explain how to connect your SHOPLINE store with Klaviyo, helping you establish a communication channel with targeted customers. This integration allows you to deliver relevant information directly to them, which in turn can drive sales and boost conversions.
Connecting Your SHOPLINE to Klaviyo
Before you start, make sure to sign up for an account at Klaviyo first, and follow the steps below to connect SHOPLINE store with Klaviyo:
- Visit the SHOPLINE App Store and install Klaviyo: Email Marketing & SMS.
- Click the Authorized store button in the app and follow the steps to complete the authorization in Klaviyo.
- To embed the app, click Open now and jump to the App embeds page, make sure the Klaviyo app is toggled.
Configuring Customer Synchronization
Before proceeding with syncing store data, make sure to complete customer synchronization settings with the following steps:
- Select the Klaviyo list for synchronization and click Save.
This ensures your SHOPLINE store customers and their subscription statuses are consistently synced to the selected list. - After selecting the list, click Go to List settings and configure the opt-in settings for this list in Klaviyo according to your requirements.
| Note: The default opt-in setting for lists in Klaviyo is Double opt-in. If the customer emails you want to sync already exist in your Klaviyo account, it’s recommended to change the setting to Single opt-in. Otherwise, Klaviyo will send verification emails to those customers after syncing. For more details on Klaviyo's opt-in settings, please refer to "Understanding the double opt-in process." |
Syncing Store Data
After completing the authorization and customer synchronization settings, click Sync store data to sync your SHOPLINE store data to Klaviyo.

Pushing Store Events
You can manage which types of events to push by navigating to the Event push section in the app. Klaviyo will begin receiving event data only after push is enabled. If a specific event is disabled, its data will no longer be sent to Klaviyo.
The currently supported events fall into two categories:
- Default events:These core events are enabled by default.
- Optional events: These can be enabled based on your store’s needs.

Upgrading to the New Klaviyo App
Due to its instability, the old third-party Klaviyo app will soon be removed from the App Store. If you currently use this app, please upgrade to the new Klaviyo app developed by SHOPLINE as soon as possible by the following steps:
- Remove the old Klaviyo app in Apps at the SHOPLINE Admin Panel
- If you have configured a Product Feed URL in Klaviyo, please delete it on the Custom sources page.
- Follow the instructions at the beginning of this article to install and use the new Klaviyo app.
| Note: Using both the old and new versions of the Klaviyo app may cause data duplication issues. Please ensure you remove the old app and install the new Klaviyo app. |
