Engaging subscribed customers with promotional emails is a great way to keep them informed about new products and offers. However, it's essential to legally collect customer information and obtain their consent before sending any marketing emails.

Getting Customer Opt-in for Emails
To comply with legal and privacy regulations, only send promotions to customers who have explicitly opted-in to receive marketing communications from your online store. Customers can provide their consent through various channels:
- Order placement page during product purchases
- Website footer
- Account registration page
- User center after login
- Other designated pages or pop-up windows
Double Opt-In for Email Marketing (Optional)
While automatic confirmation emails aren't sent by default, you can enable them to comply with legal regulations in certain regions such as Germany, or to prioritize customer rights. This ensures transparency and protects the interests of both buyers and sellers.
Here's how to activate double opt-in:
- Go to Settings > Notifications in your SHOPLINE admin panel.
- Find the Customer subscription module and click Customer marketing confirmation.
- Customize your email template using the email editor.
- After configuring your email template, return to the Customer marketing confirmation notification option. Then, click Marketing subscription setting, check Require customer's double confirm in the pop-up window, and click Complete.
Now, customers who subscribe to your email marketing will receive a confirmation email, prompting them to finalize the subscription.
Note: Due to legal reasons, this email should not contain any marketing content. |
