Customer Grouping

 

You can group customers with similar characteristics for more refined segment analysis, precision marketing, etc. SHOPLINE provides pre-defined groups or you can create new ones, and all the groups you have created can be edited or deleted.

1. Preset customer groups

1.1 SHOPLINE offers 4 preset customer groups to help you filter your customers for more accurate marketing and operations.

To view all the groups: SHOPLINE Admin > [Customers] > [Customer Grouping Dropdown Options]

 

Click on any of the preset groups, if there are customers that meet the filtering criteria of the preset groups, they will be displayed in the list. If no customers meet the criteria, it will remind "No data available".

1.2 Specific information of 4 preset group

  • New: represents the new customers in the store. When the customer’s email subscription status is subscribed and the order quantity is less than 1, the customer will be shown in this group.
  • Returning: represents the returning customers in the store. When the customer's email subscription status is subscribed and the order quantity is more than 1, the customer will be shown in this group.
  • Abandoned checkouts: Abandoned checkouts in the store. When customers have abandoned orders in the past 30 days, they will be shown in this group
  • High-value: High-value customers in the store. If the customer has spent more than  1000 in the store in the past 90 days, they will be shown in this group
    • Note: The definition of the above customers may be varied in each store, you can always edit the preset group or create a new customer group according to the store situation.

 

2. Create a new customer group

2.1 Create & Customize customer groups by different filtering criteria within the customer list

      There are two paths to help you create new groups efficiently:

  • Go to SHOPLINE Admin > [Customers] > [Dropdown Options of Segment] > [New group] to filter by more conditions.
  • Go to SHOPLINE Admin > [Customers] > [Dropdown Options of Segment] > apply the current grouping template provided for you

 

2.2 Filter customers efficiently by following methods:

  • Go to SHOPLINE Admin > [Customers] > [All customers] next to Segment > [New group] > select your filtering criteria > [Complete]
  • Go to SHOPLINE Admin > [Customers] > above the customer list > [More Filters] under Segment
  • Go to SHOPLINE Admin > [Customers] > above customer list > customize your search and filter by search box or [Customer status], etc.
  • Go to SHOPLINE Admin > [Customers] > above the customer list > click [Templates] to select a suitable one > click [Quick Filter] on the right of the corresponding template

 

2.3 Save groups after filtering customers:

  • After filtering > click [Save]
  • Fill in the group name > click [Save]
  • Go to SHOPLINE Admin > [Customers] > [All customers] next to Segment > check all the saved groups in the current store > click any group you want to check

 

3. Edit customer group

You can edit pre-defined groups and groups you created in the customer list. The supported editing operations include editing filter criteria, renaming customer groups, and deleting customer groups. When you edit, please select the group you want to edit first.

Steps:

  • In the customer list > select the customer group you want to edit or delete
  • If you want to edit the filter criteria of the group, you can do the following.
    • Delete an existing group label: directly click the [x] to the right of the corresponding label
    • Add filters: Same as when creating a new group, you can search or add filters in the [More Filters] section
  • If you want to rename a group, you can do the following.
    • Click [Edit groups]> refill the group name > Click [Save]
  • If you want to delete the corresponding customer group, you can do the following.
    • Click [Edit groups] > Click [Delete] > Click [Delete] again in the confirmation pop-up window
