How to Use The New Email Template Editor

 

The new version of the email template editor is here! SHOPLINE has optimized several components and added new features to the editor. You can switch to the new version with just one click. For details about setting up the content of email notifications, refer to this article.

Switching to the New Version

  1. From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Settings > Notifications.

  2. In the Notifications module, click the notification scenario you want to customize its template to open the email template editor.

  3. In the editor, click Switch to new version in the upper right corner.

What’s New?

We have redesigned the email template editor and added the following new features to it:

The Whole New Interface

The components are relocated to the left pane as a menu, and you can configure the components in the right pane when clicking on any of the components. Your email template preview is displayed in the middle pane in real time, making it easier for you to configure the template.

Newly-Added Components

Compared with the old version, the new version of the email editor has optimized the product list component and added a discount code component, expense breakdowns, and dynamic sources for shipping.

  • The optimized Product List Component: The Product List component currently supports the display of refund and discount information.

  • Discount card component: For the Abandoned checkout recovery template, you can select/create and send discount codes to customers, impressing customers with the store’s discounts, thereby promoting order conversion. It supports the configuration of the following items:
    • Discount code image: The default gift card image is displayed, which can be replaced or deleted.
    • Title: You can provide your title copy with a maximum of 500 characters and modify the font size and color.
    • Subtitle: You can provide your subtitle copy with a maximum of 500 characters and modify the font size and color.
    • Discount code: You can select or create the discount code that you want to offer the customer. You can also modify the font size and color of discount codes.
    • Description of discount code: You can provide a description with a maximum of 1,000 characters and modify the font size and color.

  • Expense breakdowns: We add expense breakdowns under the order summary, allowing customers to have a clear view of their expenses easily. As expenses vary from order to order, the displayed line items also vary.

  • Dynamic sources for shipping: In each component, click the Add dynamic source icon to add a dynamic source that is related to shipment, including payment method, delivery method, shipping address, and pickup address.

  • New preview option: In addition to PC preview, you can now preview how your email looks on mobile devices in real time, so that you can make instant adjustments. Simply click on the icons for PC and mobile device at the top of the page.

Switching Back to the Old Version

After you have published email templates using the new version of the editor for the first time, it will be set as the default editor. If you aren’t comfortable with the new version, simply click the three-dot button in the upper right corner and choose Switch to previous version to return to the old version of the editor.
