In the Discounts section, we provide several metrics for you to understand the overall and individual performance of your discount campaigns. Learn how to interpret the data in this article.

Overall Discount Campaign Data

Path: From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to the Discounts page. The overall performance data for all your discount campaigns (both discount code and automatic discount) are presented above the discount campaign list in the form of cards.
You can view the total sales, orders, discount amount, and campaign ROI generated by your discount campaigns. You can also see the percentage of Sales and Orders contributed by your campaigns to compared to your overall store metrics, as long your sales amount and orders from campaigns are not 0.

Data Overview of Your Discount Campaigns

Path: Click on any metric card to enter the Data overview page.
On the Discount campaign data overview page, you can view aggregate data of discount campaigns over a period of time. This includes a chart visualizing sales and order trends, along with detailed data for each campaign that has generated data during this time frame.

Time Frame Selection

You can specify the desired time frame for viewing data using the selector at the top of the Data Overview page.

Understanding the Metrics

The metric cards at the top of the Data overview page will be updated based on the time frame you specify.

Metric	Metric Definitions
Sales	The total sales amount from successful orders that participated in the discount code or automatic discount campaigns. Where refunds occur, the sales amount will be deducted accordingly.
Percentage of sales	The ratio of discount campaign sales to store sales. Store sales refer to the sales generated within your SHOPLINE store. Sales of imported orders are excluded.
Orders	The total number of successful orders that participated in the discount code or automatic discount campaigns.
Percentage of orders	The ratio of orders from discount campaigns to total store orders. Store orders refer to the orders generated within your SHOPLINE store. Imported orders are excluded.
Discount amount	The total discount amount applied to successful orders that participated in the discount campaigns.
ROI	ROI = Discount campaign sales/discount amount
Average transaction value	Average transaction value = Discount campaign sales/Discount campaign orders
Unit per transaction	Unit per transaction = Number of items in discount campaign orders/Discount campaign orders

Sales Data Chart

Below the overall metrics on the Data overview page, you’ll find a chart that visually represents the sales data for discount campaigns, allowing you to track the sales and order trends for these campaigns over time.

Individual Campaign Data

In the campaign list, you can view the details for each campaign that has generated data in the selected time frame. Each campaign occupies one row.

Activity content: The campaign name and the discount code (if applicable).
Discount condition: The discount conditions of the campaign, including the discount threshold and discount value.
Sales: The total sales amount from successful orders that participated in this discount campaign.
Orders: The total number of successful orders that participated in this campaign.
Discount amount: The total discount amount applied to successful orders that participated in this campaign.
ROI: Sales from this campaign/Discount amount from this campaign.
Average transaction value: Sales from this campaign/Orders from this campaign.
Unit per transaction: No. of items within the orders from this campaign/Orders from this campaign
Gift card sales data: If an order includes gift card products, the data for them will be provided separately.
- Gift card sales: The sales of gift card products in orders that participated in this campaign.
- Gift card quantity: The number of gift card products in successful orders that participated in this discount campaign.
- Gift card discount amount: The discount amount of gift card products applied to successful orders that participated in this discount campaign.
