Precautions Regarding Affiliate Self-purchases

Before setting up transaction fees and discounts for affiliate self-purchases, please consider the following:

• You can configure whether transaction fees apply to Self purchases. Affiliate Marketing will determine if the referral order qualifies as an affiliate self-purchase based on the order details. 
  • When affiliates make purchases using their referral links or discount codes, the email address provided in the orders must match the affiliate's email address.
  • Any order placed using an affiliate self-purchase discount code is categorized as an affiliate self-purchase.
• Once you've set up affiliate self-purchase discounts, Affiliate Marketing will automatically generate a unique self-purchase link and discount code for each affiliate associated with your store.
  • When affiliates access your store through their self-purchase link, the discount code will automatically apply during the checkout process.
  • If other discount codes have already been applied before checkout and the total number of discount codes reaches the upper limit you've set, the self-purchase discount code won’t apply automatically. In such cases, the affiliate needs to manually apply the self-purchase discount code.
  • Affiliates have the option to share their self-purchase links and discount codes with their customers. Any order placed using an affiliate self-purchase discount code, whether by the affiliate or another individual, is considered an affiliate self-purchase.
  • If multiple discount codes are applied to an order, the order qualifies as an affiliate self-purchase only if the first discount code related to affiliate marketing is a self-purchase discount code.
• Self-purchase discount code: Once you've established self-purchase discounts, Affiliate Marketing will automatically generate a unique self-purchase discount code for you. You can find this discount code on the Discounts page. To prevent any issues, please refrain from modifying or deleting the discount code.

Transaction Fee Settings for Affiliate Self-purchases

You have the option to set up transaction fees for affiliate self-purchases. Affiliate Marketing will identify whether a referral order qualifies as an affiliate self-purchase based on the order details.

If no transaction fees are applied to affiliate self-purchases, when an affiliate self-purchase order is generated, you will notice a referral order entry in the order list. Self purchase will be displayed below the order number, and the status will be shown as Rejected.

Steps:

1. Coupons & Reward > Self purchase.
2. In the Commission Settings section, set whether transaction fees apply for affiliate self-purchase.
3. Click Update.

Discount Settings for Affiliate Self-purchases

You can set the discount for affiliate self-purchases. When orders are placed through this link, the self-purchase discount will be automatically applied at the checkout page. (However, if affiliates have already used some discount codes and the number of discount codes has reached the upper limit set for your store, the self-purchase discount code won’t be applied automatically.)

Affiliates can share self-purchase discounts with their customers. Any order made via the self-purchase link or under the self-purchase discount code will receive the self-purchase discounts. However, orders placed under self-purchase discount codes will be considered affiliate self-purchases. If you have also configured that no transaction fees apply to affiliate self-purchases, sharing self-purchase links or discount codes with customers may result in reduced transaction fees for affiliates.

Steps:

1. Open the Affiliate Self-purchase page in the Affiliate Marketing System.
2. In the Discount settings section, enable Discount settings and configure the following:
   

• In the Discount type section, select the type of discount and the discount/amount you would like to offer affiliates. 
• In the Discount requirements section, specify whether a purchase amount or quantity threshold applies to this discount. 
• In the Stack discounts section, specify whether this discount can be stacked with automatic discounts.

3. Click Update.
