You can temporarily close your SHOPLINE store to visitors if you currently can't accept orders for any reason - for example, it is under construction, or you're on vacation. After you close your storefront, customers won’t be able to view your catalogue and place orders, and they will see “This store is closed for maintenance” notice instead of your e-commerce storefront.
If you’re on a paid plan, closing your storefront will not affect your subscription. The paid plan remains active, and you are still being charged for it. |

Temporarily closing storefronts to visitors
You can stop visitors from accessing your storefront by enabling the maintenance mode.
After you close the storefront to visitors, you can still access your store admin and view and edit the catalog and all the other settings, including previously placed orders.
To close your storefront to visitors:
- From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Settings > Basic settings > Shop status
- Click on Close shop
Now you have closed your storefront to all visitors, your customers will not be able to view products and place orders, and customers won’t be able to access their accounts.
Keeping storefront open to chosen visitors
After you close your storefront, you can still keep it open to some specific customers, yourself, or your staff. For example, you can keep the store open to yourself, so if you make design changes or update the catalogue, you can check the result live in the store.
To open storefront to selected visitors:
-
From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Online store > Preferences > Password protection
-
Enable password protection and key in your unique password
