Along with physical products, you can sell gift cards in your SHOPLINE store. When you set up gift cards, it will allow your customers to buy an electronic gift card for any range you specify. Customers will get their gift cards via email. Any order containing a gift card will automatically be sent to a customer after its Paid.
After a customer gets a notification email with the gift card, they can forward this email to the gift recipient. The recipient can use this gift card’s discount code to pay for products in your store till they spend the entire balance or the card expires.

Enabling and disabling gift card
To start selling gift cards.

From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Products > Gift cards.
- Click on Create a gift card product.
- Enter the information required to set up gift card:
- Product title
- Product summary
- Product description
- Product image/video
- Gift card value
- Click Add.
Once a gift card is added, it will appear with your other products in your SHOPLINE admin, Product details page.
Here is an example of a gift card with default settings in your storefront.
To stop selling gift cards:

From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Products.
- Find the gift card you want to stop selling.
- Toggle off the status to Deactivated.
After you deactivate a gift card, it will not be shown on your storefront, but it will remain in your product catalog with all the settings so you can easily enable it back later. Previously sold gift cards can still be redeemed.
Purchasing and redeeming gift cards as a customer
After purchase, your customer gets an email with a unique gift card code and instructions on how to use it.
The card recipient can use the gift card to pay for any products in your store. To redeem it, they should enter the card code from the email to the field at checkout. This field automatically appears in your store after you set up a gift card:
A gift card can be used in multiple orders until it’s fully redeemed. A customer can see the remaining balance if you install the Member System App if it's not fully redeemed. Learn how to set up Gift Card settings using the Member System App.
Viewing details of sold gift cards
On the gift card page in your SHOPLINE admin, you are able to view statistics on gift cards that you have sold.
To view gift cards statistics:

From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Products > Gift cards.
- You will be able to view the number of gift cards sold.
To view sales of gift cards:

From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Analytics > Report.

In the Finance section, select Gift card sales.
Resending a gift card
You are able to resend a gift card if the customer lost the gift card email, accidentally deleted it, or can’t find it for any other reason.
To resend a gift card:

From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Products > Gift cards.
- Find the gift card you want to resend by searching the customer’s name, email or the gift card's last 4 characters.

Next, the gift card information, under Assign customers, click on Resend button.
Deactivating a gift card
You may want to deactivate a card for any reason. For example, the order with gift card purchase was cancelled or you do not want this card to be redeemed. A gift card cannot be redeemed once deactivated. After deactivating a gift card, you will not be able to reactivate it again.
To deactivate a gift card:

From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Products > Gift card.
- Find the gift card you want to deactivate by searching the customer’s name, email or the gift card's last 4 characters.

Click on Disable, to disable the gift card.
If a gift card were deactivated by mistake, you would not be able to reactivate it. You will need to resend the recipient a new gift card.
To resend a new gift card:

From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Products > Gift cards.

Click on Distribute gift cards.
- Enter the gift card value.
- Enter customer email to resend gift card.
Checking gift card balance
To check a gift card balance:

From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Product > Gift cards.
- Find the gift card you want to check the gift card balance by searching the customer’s name, email or the gift card's last 4 characters.
- You will see the balance of the found card.
Exporting gift cards
When you export gift cards, you will get a CSV file with the details of every card sold. In the file, you can filter gift cards by date created, amount, balance, and other details.
To export gift cards:

From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Products > Gift cards.
- Click on Export, and export all gift cards or selected gift cards.
- You will receive the exported file in your inbox, and ready to download.

Can I sell several gift card products?
Yes, you can sell several gift cards in your store.
Can a gift card be used more than once?
Yes, a customer can use a gift card in multiple orders until the entire balance is spent or the card expires (whichever happens earlier)
Can I restrict gift cards to certain items?
No. A gift card can be used to pay for any products or services in your store.
How do I give a free gift card to a customer?
To give someone a gift card for free:
- From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Products > Gift cards.
- Click on Distribute gift cards.
- Enter the gift card value.
- Enter the customer's email to resend the gift card.
Once you distribute the gift card, the customer will receive the gift card in their inbox. Alternatively, you can simply send the gift card code in any messaging app.
