Affiliate Marketing: How to Start Your Affiliate Program

With Affiliate Marketing, you can start your affiliate program in an easy and quick way. In this article, learn the general procedure of creating one, from setting up the referral rules to paying out your affiliates.

 

 

Installing the Affiliate Marketing App

To use the Affiliate Marketing app, you need to install it from SHOPLINE’s App Store. 

  1. From your SHOPLINE admin panel, click Apps > Go to App Store to enter the SHOPLINE App Store.

  2. In the App Store, search for Affiliate Marketing. Open the app details page, click Install to authorize and install the app.

Configuring Basic Settings and Affiliate Recruitment Links for Your Program

  • Set up  rules for affiliates to earn commissions  and bonuses if they reach specific targets. Learn more about setting up commission rules, personal bonuses and team bonuses. You have the flexibility to adjust your commission rules as required.

  • You can also set up discounts for customers who purchase your products via affiliates’ links. Learn more about setting up discounts for customers.

  • Customize the recruitment landing page and the affiliate registration form to define the information that affiliates are required to provide when registering for your affiliate program. Learn more about how to set up  the affiliate program landing page.

  • Before sharing the recruitment page or affiliate registration link, ensure to review and configure commission-related settings like the method of calculating the commission, the commission lock-up period, and discount code tracing. Set up how you pay out to your affiliates as well.

Inviting Affiliates to Register Your Program

Once your affiliate program is ready to launch, you can share your recruitment landing page or affiliate registration link to invite affiliates to join your program. Affiliates can apply to join the program by registering through the provided link.

Next, review and approve or reject an affiliate’s application. System will notify affiliates of the review result. Rejected affiliates can reapply. Learn more about managing affiliates and setting up the review process.

The Affiliates Promote Your Products

Approved affiliates can begin  to promote your products. The system will automatically generate referral links and discount codes for affiliates, empowering them to promote your store and products. Additionally, you can set special commission fees for specific products or affiliates.

 

 

The Affiliates Bring in Sales

When customers place orders using an affiliate’s referral link or discount code, Affiliate Marketing records these orders. The time that the system processes a referral order depends on your commision calculation and payout configurations. You can review and approve/reject these orders as well.

Paying Your Affiliates

You can specify a billing date. On this designated date, the system automatically computes your bill. It includes approved orders that have surpassed the commission lock-up period.You can view billing information on the Bills page.

Note: You are responsible for paying the affiliates. After making the payment, you can mark it as paid for specific bills/affiliates. The system will then send automatic notifications to the affiliates to inform them of the payment. Additionally, the payment status will be updated to Paid in both the Bill management section and the affiliate’s personal center.
