Processing PayPal Refunds in Your Store

PayPal offers customers the convenience of paying for purchases in stores using multiple payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers. To get started, you'll need a PayPal account and to set it up as a payment option in your SHOPLINE store. Once configured, you can begin receiving payments through PayPal. 

This guide will provide step-by-step instructions on how to initiate a PayPal refund directly from your PayPal account.

 

 

Setting Up PayPal as a Payment Method

To accept payments through PayPal, you'll need a PayPal account. Sign up for one if you haven't already. Then, link it to your SHOPLINE store within the SHOPLINE admin panel.

 

 

Issuing Paypal Refunds 

 Before you process a PayPal refund, please be aware of the following:

  • Fees: A non-refundable 4.0% fee will be deducted from all PayPal refunds, along with a SHOPLINE transaction fee based on your subscription plan.
  • Timeframe: You can issue full or partial refunds within 180 days of the purchase. Once submitted, refund requests cannot be canceled.
  • Manual Update: After processing a refund in PayPal, you'll need to manually update the order's payment status in your SHOPLINE admin. 

 

How to Issue a PayPal Refund:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account and go to Activity.
  2. Locate the payment you want to refund and click Issue a Refund.
  3. Enter the desired refund amount and click Continue.
  4. Review the details and confirm by clicking Issue Refund.

    SHOPLINE enables you to set PayPal quick payment in multiple locations, including a product details page, shopping cart, and checkout page. In addition, as the checkout steps are set up differently in the admin, the checkout page will display it in two different ways:
      • Standard style: three-page checkout
      • Single page style: single page checkout
  1. What currencies does PayPal support?
    PayPal supports multiple regions and currencies, covering most transactions around the world. Please note that some currencies are conditional account currencies, meaning they are only available to PayPal accounts in certain areas. For details, please refer to Currencies Supported by PayPal.
  2. I have both PayPal personal and business accounts, which one should I register?
