Product Pin: Introduction and Setup Guide
Product Pin can help you highlight products that you want to showcase in your store's categories. By creating pinned links and sharing them on other channels for product testing, you can identify popular trends with ease and boost store sales.
This article will explain how to install this app, create pinned links, and manage them.
Installing and Using Product Pin
You can go to the App Store to find and install it. The steps are as follows:
-
From your SHOPLINE admin panel, click Apps > Go to App Store.
-
Search for Product Pin and click Install.
-
Return to the SHOPLINE admin panel > Apps to select and use the app.
Creating Pinned Links
Here are the quick steps to create a pinned link:
| Note: You can create up to 500 Product Pin links by default. If you need to create more links, please contact us to apply for whitelisting, which allows you to set up to 5,000 Product Pin links. |
- Click Create new link to enter the creation page.
-
Choose a collection in the pop-up window and click Select.
-
Enter a name for the link to help you identify and manage it.
-
Select up to 30 products from the collection in the Products pinned on top section and click Add.
Notes:
- You're not limited to selecting products placed at the top of the chosen category. You can choose any product.
- Products placed at the top won't actually be showcased to your store's main page. They are only accessible through the pinned product link.
-
Click Display hot products in priority to sort the featured products. The order is determined solely based on current sales volume and does not update in real time.
-
Afterwards, choose the display position for products placed at the top:
-
- Select Only homepage of category page to showcase products at the top of the corresponding category page.
- Select All pages of category page to pin on every page when multiple pages fit the category.
Copying and Sharing Product Pin Links
After completing a Product Pin configuration, the system automatically generates UTM tracking links for the category page. You can find the link you want to copy on the Product Pin app homepage, click the link icon, and select the desired URL type to copy it for use in marketing campaigns or content placements. The app supports three types of links, as described below:
Short Link (Recommended)
The short link is a condensed URL that always points to the latest Product Pin configuration. It is designed to remain stable even when the pinned products or rules are updated.
Recommended for:
- Scenarios where the same link may be reused over time
- Situations where configuration changes are expected
- Use cases where link stability is a priority
Long Link (ID Splicing)
This long link is generated by splicing internal category or product IDs into the URL, directly reflecting the current Product Pin configuration.
Recommended for:
- Scenarios that require a direct system reference
- Short-term or fixed configurations
- Internal validation or testing purposes
Long Link (SEO Title Splicing)
This long link uses SEO-friendly category titles instead of internal IDs, making the URL more readable while still reflecting the current configuration.
Recommended for:
- Content where URL readability is important
- SEO-oriented pages or articles
- Fixed configurations that are unlikely to change
Each link type is designed for different needs. Choose the option that best matches your usage scenario and configuration requirements.
Managing Pinned Links
After creating your pinned links, you can view and manage them on the list page:
- Click Preview (the eye icon) to visit your store and preview the effect.
- Click Get link (the clip icon) to select links for testing: short links, ID-concatenated long links, and SEO information-concatenated long links. Short links are recommended.
- Copy or delete the link as needed.
