Suppose you want to use different types of options to design custom solutions for your products. In that case, you can use the Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler app without rendering the customization effects on the product page. For instance, if you sell products such as beauty contact lenses or eyeglasses, you require customers to select the prescription for both eyes, as well as the type of lenses and frames.
Please note: The preview feature for images/texts in the Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler app will no longer be updated. If your product requires a preview effect rendering, please utilize the Preview Designer. For instructions, please refer to the Preview Designer User Guide.

Design Page Overview
- Options list: This is a list displaying all the added options. You can manage these options here, including editing, reordering, copying, or deleting selected options.
- Add options: Showcases the available options supported by the Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler app. To add an option, simply click the Add button located on the upper right side of the option group.
- Edit options: Fill in specific information for each option in this section. Select an option from the list and input the details accordingly.
- Preview option effect: On the right side of the page, you can see the preview of the selected option.
Custom Group
The concept of a "custom group" is used to organize and manage options with the same customized content, similar to option sets or option groups. You can freely add any customized options for a specific custom group.
In most cases, one custom group is sufficient for a product. However, if your product requires multiple preview canvases, you can differentiate them by creating multiple custom groups, as each custom group can be associated with a canvas (the background image for preview effects). You can add up to 30 custom groups.
- You can set display conditions for various customized options within a custom group to control their visibility. Click on Set display condition to configure this.
- You can also set a background image for the preview effect of an option by clicking Background image setting.
Note: Please be aware that the preview functionality in the Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler app will soon be discontinued. The Background image setting feature will be deactivated accordingly. |
If your custom group is a draft, you can click Hide this group to prevent customers from viewing the customized content of this group without affecting the normal display of other custom groups.
Image Options
The Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler app integrates numerous functions in the Image options section
- You can fill in the necessary Title, Notes, and Image upload Options. You will use images as option values and can provide descriptive text and set additional custom fees. You can upload multiple images from your device for consumers to choose from. The Product customization feature will automatically create multiple options based on the uploaded images, using the file names as descriptions. You can name the images in advance or modify the descriptions later.
- You can make this image option mandatory by simply enabling the Product requires custom element. If customers don't select this customization option, they can’t place orders.
- If your product also allows customers to upload their photos for customization, you can check the Buyer upload image option and set an additional fee for this service. Your customers can then upload photos to your store.
- Additionally, you can choose the display style of this option in your store, either Tiled or Drop-down.
- You can set a limit on the number of options customers can choose. Check Allow buyers to select multiple options and enter Range of selection quantity.

- If you want to showcase real-time rendering of customized effects to your customers, you can check the Image displayed in default position on background image box. The Product customization feature will provide a canvas for rendering effects, where you can set a background image and adjust the position of the image on the background. When customers select an image, we will instantly show them the customized effect.
- For your convenience, the system will default to having all images within the same image option displayed in the same position. Therefore, you only need to make adjustments once. If you have different images that need to be displayed in different positions, you can check the Option Image displayed at different positions, adjust to fit and then adjust the position for each image one by one. Moreover, you can choose whether to allow your customers to freely move the position of an image on the canvas.
- To enhance your customization effects, especially when you need to specify a certain area on the canvas to display the effect, Product customization supports setting the display area and shape. You can enable the Image display area, choose the shape that suits your needs and then drag the shape in Product details preview section on the right to adjust it to where you want it.
- If the shape of the product display area is irregular (such as an ellipse), we provide a solution that allows you to design effects in any shape. You can achieve this in three steps. Instructions are also available once you click on How to create a custom region:
- Use Photoshop (or similar) to hollow out the custom region in the product image. Save as a PNG with ‘transparent’ background.
- Set the custom canvas to contain the custom region, and set it to display “Below the canvas”.
- Select the custom image options you require (eg: merchant’s images, or customer can upload), then position them into the custom region.
Once the setup is completed, you can preview the effect by selecting any image in the editor's preview area. You can also save the customization and visit your store to see the result.
Text
Product customization integrates numerous features for the Text section
- You can fill in fields such as Title, Notes, and Max-characters.
- You can turn on the Product requires custom element switch to make this option mandatory.
- You can set an Additional fee for this customization service.
- You can restrict character types and formats.

- You can choose to display real-time customized text effects to customers in your store by enabling the Enable customization preview option.
- You can design the text Color, providing multiple color options for your customers. Additionally, you can choose to allow customers to freely select colors, provided your factory can produce them.
- You can design the text Font and offer various choices. Product customization provides a collection of popular fonts for your use, and you can also upload your own font files (in TTF format) for use, up to 30 fonts in total.
- You can select the text Size and choose whether to enable Supports adjusting font size.
- You can apply artistic effects to the text, i.e., Neon light, Underline, etc.
- You can design the curvature effect of the text, allowing customers to freely move the text's display position on the canvas.
File Uploading
When you need customers to provide files for customizing products, such as images and PDF files, you can use the File upload feature.
- You can fill in the Title, Notes, Preview Display style, and the Additional fee required for this customization service.
- You can enable Product requires custom element to make this option mandatory.
- You can set the maximum number of files customers are allowed to upload, with PRO plan, customers can upload up to 60 files at a time.
Dropdown Options
When you want to provide customers with multiple choices in the form of text, you can use the Dropdown feature.
- You can fill in the Title of this option, Notes for customers, Options you offer, and the Additional fee required for this customization service.
- You can turn on the Product requires custom element switch to make this option mandatory.
- You can copy, delete, or set an option as the Default selection by clicking on Selected by default, and you can also customize the display style of the options.
- If a specific option represents another SKU for your product (e.g., if a customization item is an accessory that has its own SKU), you can associate the option with that SKU. The availability of the option will depend on the inventory level of the associated SKU. When a customer selects that option and places an order, the associated SKU will also have its quantity deducted. Simply hover over the space after Additional fee, click the shopping bag icon, then select the products/variant.
Checkbox
When you need customers to confirm whether they want to include a specific service, such as "A GIFT BOX", you can use the Checkbox feature.
- You can fill in the Title, Notes, and Additional fee for this option.
- You can turn on the Product requires custom element switch to make this option mandatory or set it as Checked by default.
Date
When your product requires customers to input date-related information, you can use the Date feature.
- You can fill in the Title, Notes, and Additional fee for this service.
- You can turn on the Product requires custom element switch to make this option mandatory.
- You can choose the Date Format, whether it's a single date or a date range, and the format of the year, month, and day.
Table
You can use the Table feature to collect necessary customization information from your customers, especially for products like customized glasses.
- You can fill in the Title, Notes, and Additional fee for this option.
- You can turn on the Product requires custom element switch to make this option mandatory.
- You can design the format of the table for information input, including the number of rows and columns, and table headers.
Buy-together Products
When your product can be sold together with other items or requires complementary accessories, you can use the Buy Together feature.
- You can fill in the Title and Notes.
- You can select up to five items from the list of compatible products.
- You can choose horizontal or vertical display under Display setting.
Setting Display Condition
If there is logical display behavior between your options, such as showing additional options when a certain option is selected and hiding them when it's not selected, you can use the Set display condition feature for control.
In the Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler app, you can set the display conditions separately for each option within a custom group without affecting others.
Hover over the Settings button on the right side of the custom group, and click Set display condition.
The Set display condition feature within the Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler app has two modes: Condition mode and Mind map mode. These two modes don't affect each other, and the settings made in a specific mode will be effective in the store accordingly.
You can switch between modes by clicking the Condition mode/Mind map mode in the upper right corner.
Mind Map Mode Explanation
- To set the display order of options, click Set first display order to enter the sorting page, and drag and drop to arrange your display columns.
- Set display rules.
Click the black arrow next to an option to configure its sub-options. Simply click on the desired option in the window. The successful establishment of a display condition is indicated by a blue line. You can add multiple display conditions for each customization option.
If you find any missing options, you can directly create new ones on this page, and the system will automatically connect them.
If you notice any incorrect settings, hover over the blue line and click the red Delete button to remove the setting.
Condition Mode Explanation
- Set the display order by dragging and dropping the display columns.
- Set display rules:
You can create unlimited number of conditions, where the format for each condition is When a certain option value is selected, display other specific options. Conditions don't exclude each other; as long as any condition is met, the corresponding options will be displayed.
- Set rules based on SKU attributes:
In addition to the above features, Condition mode has a special feature where you can use the selection results of SKU attributes as triggering conditions. For example, if a customer selects a certain color or size, specific options will be displayed while they won't be shown if not selected.
If this custom item has multiple custom groups, you can click the Dropdown options in the upper left corner to set display conditions for other custom groups of this product as well. Once done, click Save in the upper right corner, and the configurations made in this mode will be applied to the store page accordingly.
