Enrich Your Products: Add Images, Videos, and Files

 

Rich product media can improve customer understanding, elevate the shopping experience, and boost your store sales. This guide shows you how to upload images, videos, and even 3D models to enhance your product listings on your SHOPLINE store. 

Note: All SHOPLINE themes currently support displaying uploaded product media.

Uploading Product Images

To upload images for a specific product, follow these steps:

  1. In your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Products and select the product you want to add images to.

  2. On the product details page, locate the Image/video section. Choose one of these methods:

    • Click Add images to select and upload images from your computer.
    • Drag and drop the images directly into the upload area.
    • If the images are already in your File Library, click Add multimedia files and select them.
  1. Consider the following adjustments for the uploaded images based on your needs and preferences:
    • The first image becomes the main product image for both the product details page and the All Products page.
    • Drag and drop images to reorder them.
    • To delete images, select them and click Delete.
    • By clicking the enlarge icon of a specific image, you can:
      • View the image in full size.
      • Add image ALT attribute to enhance SEO.
      • Edit the image by cropping, flipping, and/or rotating it.
      • Download or delete the image.
    1. Click Update to save your image uploads.

 

After uploading product images, they will be displayed on the product details page of your online store. 

Notes: 
  • Entering the product name is required to successfully add images for a specific product.
  • Supported image formats: 
    • jpg, png, webp, SVG (10 MB limit, 4 MB recommended).
    • GIF animations are also supported (8 MB limit).
    • If your product images are square, a size of 800x800px is recommended.

 


 

Adding Images to Product Variants

 

Adding Main Images

For products with variants, assign a specific image to each variant.

  1. In your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Products and select the desired product.

  2. On the product details page, locate the SKU list section and click on the + icon of a variant.

  3. Choose the variant image from the main product images or upload a new one.

When customers select a variant on the product page, this image will be displayed.

 

Adding Thumbnails 

Additionally, upload thumbnails for each variant.

  1. Follow steps 1 and 2 from the Adding Main Images section above.

  2. In the Variants section, click the Edit icon for the desired variant.

  3. In the pop-up window, click the + icon to upload a thumbnail. Then, click Save.

The uploaded thumbnails will appear alongside variant options on the product page.

 


 

Adding Product Videos

Showcase your products with engaging videos! Follow these steps:

  1. In your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Products and select the product you want to add a video to.

  2. On the product details page, locate the Image/video section. Choose one of these methods:
    • YouTube video: Click Add video URL, paste the YouTube video URL, and click Confirm.

    • Upload from computer: Click Add multimedia files and select your video (MP4 format, max 20 MB). Then, click Complete.

  1. Click Update to save your video upload.
Note: When adding videos for your products, please adhere to the following guidelines:
  • The uploaded video must not exceed 20 MB and should be in .mp4 format for compatibility.
  • There are no size and file format restrictions for embedding videos via a YouTube link. However, please note that only YouTube URLs are supported; URLs from other video hosting platforms won't work with our system.

 


 

Adding 3D Models

Enhance customer experience by showcasing 3D product models! These models allow viewers to see the size, proportions, and details of your products in three dimensions.

Upload pre-shot or generated 3D model files using the 3D & AR Product Viewer app. Refer to the Product 3D & AR Display User Guide for details on generating and uploading 3D models.

 


 

Organizing Your Media with the File Library

For easier access and management, it is recommended to upload your images, videos, and other files to the File Library. Here's how:

Note: Before uploading files, name your files clearly and consider following your store theme's formatting recommendations (if any) for better organization during search and use.

 

  1. In your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Settings > File Library.

  2. (Optional) Create file groups for further organization of your uploaded files.

  3. Click Upload files.

  4. If you have created file groups, select one group for the file. Then, click on the upload area or drag and drop the file for upload.

  5. The upload will start automatically, and the uploaded files will appear in the file list.

 

Supported File Formats and Sizes:

File Type Supported Format Maximum Size
Images .gif, .pjp, .jpg, .pipeg, .jpeg, .jfif, .png, .bmp, .webp 10 MB
Videos .mp4 20 MB
Other Files .pdf, .xlsx 20 MB

 

 


 

Protecting Your Product Images

To safeguard your product images, you can add brand watermarks to them. Alternatively, you can utilize the Conversion Booster app to enable the "Disable Right Click" feature. Follow these steps:

 

Installing Conversion Booster 

Before activating the Disable Right Click feature, install the Conversion Booster app using one of the following methods:

  • Click Conversion Booster to install the app. 

  • Go to Apps from your admin panel, search for Conversion Booster, and click on it to install.

Enabling the Disable Right Click feature

  1. From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Online Store > Design. Click the Design button in the "Current theme" section.

  2. In the editor, click on the App embeds icon, then enable the Disable Right Click feature.
