Understanding Membership Programs

The Member system offers two types of membership programs: Membership levels and Paid membership. The main difference between these two programs lies in how members join a program. You can select either of the membership programs according to the operational needs of your store to help you increase the proportion of premium customers and engage them more effectively. It also helps encourage frequent shopping and customer operation.

Membership Levels

With Member System, you can configure membership levels for your store, and assign corresponding benefits for members in different tiers. You can filter customers of different levels by purchasing amount, and assign exclusive benefits for each level to enhance member loyalty and promote order conversion.

Paid Membership

Alternatively, you can configure a paid membership program which customers can enroll by paying a fee. You can assign corresponding benefits for different types of premium members. You can filter high-value customers by the paid membership, so as to enhance customer stickiness and encourage frequent and high-value shopping.

Membership Levels versus Paid Membership

Purpose Grow customer loyalty by setting different levels and incentives, hence to improve customer stickiness and returning purchases. Filter customers with high loyalty and stickiness through payment, promote frequent and high-value purchases while increasing store’s income.
How customers enroll the program Customer becomes a member when the cumulative purchase amount reaches a certain threshold. Customer becomes a member by paying the membership.
Membership type Up to 5 levels Up to 2 types of premium members
Membership validity Membership can be configured to be permanently valid. Alternatively, a customer can become a member when his/her purchase amount reaches a certain level within a specified period of time and the membership automatically downgrades after a certain period of time. Membership expires when the customer doesn’t renew it after the validity period is over.
Member benefits
  • You can configure Upgrade to get points, Exclusive discount, Exclusive cash voucher, Exclusive free shipping coupon, Birth month discounts, or Custom privilege.
  • Upgrade to get points is a one-time benefit. Customers only receive points once after upgrading to this level;
  • Birth month discounts is a Customers receive discount coupons by the release time you configured.
  • The other benefits are granted immediately when the respective membership becomes valid.
  • You can configure Pay to get points, Exclusive discount, Exclusive cash voucher, Exclusive free shipping coupon, Birth month discounts, or Custom privilege.
  • Pay to get points is a one-time benefit. Customers only receive points once after paying for the membership;
  • Birth month discounts is a one-time benefit. Customers receive discount coupons by the release time you configured.
  • For other benefits, you can set the granting timing, such as granting once every certain period or granting immediately when membership becomes valid.
