Creating Orders
Creating and completing a sale order using the POS app is one of the core functions of a POS system. When the customer finishes selecting products, cashiers can add them to the cart on the cash register or other terminal machines. An order is created through the POS when all products are added to the cart, and the customer confirms the payment amount, selects the payment method, and completes the transaction.
Adding Products to Cart
To add products to the cart on the sale screen of the retail POS system, you can search for the product or scan the barcode.
Add by Searching the Product
- On the Home > Product list page, you can use the search bar at the top to quickly find the desired product by its name, SKU, SPU, manufacturer, summary, barcode, or serial code.
- To perform accurate searches, you can customize the search scope of the search box in Setting > Cash registration process setting > Product search setting.

Add by Scanning Barcodes
When you scan a product's barcode or serial code with a scanner, the product is automatically added to the cart. No additional steps are needed before scanning.
Note: If you have assigned the same SKU to multiple products or if there are duplicate SKUs in the system, an error notification pops up. This message prompts you to choose the product you want to add to the cart. To prevent future occurrences of this error, you must ensure that the SKUs of your products in SHOPLINE admin are unique. This will maintain accurate inventory records and prevent any issues during checkout. |
Managing Products in the Cart
Removing Products from the Cart

Delete all products: Click the trash can icon on the top of the cart to remove all products from the cart.

Delete individual products: You can swipe left on the product and click the trash can icon to remove that specific product from the cart.
Editing Product Quantities
You can quickly increase or decrease the number of a product by adjusting its quantity.
Click the product, and choose "+" or "-" to increase or decrease the quantity. Click Save. This ensures that discounts applicable to all products in the cart are correctly applied.
Order Payment
Payment processing follows when all the products are added to the cart.
- Click the Pay button at the bottom of the cart to proceed to the settlement page.
- Confirm the payment amount under Amount to Pay. Select a payment method.
Note: SHOPLINE POS supports multiple payment methods for settlement, including cash, credit cards, debit cards, mobile payments, gift cards, and store credits. You can configure these settings in the SHOPLINE admin panel > POS > Settings. |
- Click Complete to complete the payment.
Additionally, you can make combination payments. Enter the amount to be paid for this transaction under Amount to Pay and select a payment method. Repeat the process until the total order amount is fully paid.
