Configuring Advanced Address Settings
To enhance user experience and boost the local competitiveness in target markets, SHOPLINE has introduced Advanced Address Settings.
This allows you to customize address display templates and upload private address data, among other features.
- You can edit the layout of address display templates for different countries/regions as per your needs. This can simplify operations by minimizing issues about user habit variations.
- Through the address data management feature in Advanced Address Settings, you can upload and edit private address data to make things more convenient for customers.
Preparations
- Prepare address data for the specific countries/regions based on your target market.
- Familiarize yourself with local address formatting customs to suit the layout of the recipient’s address template.

Accessing the Settings
- From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to the SHOPLINE admin panel and click Settings > Checkout settings.
- Go to the Settlement form section. Locate Advanced Address Settings, then click the Manage button to customize address templates and upload address data.
Note: Do not enable and save before completing the template and uploading private address data. |
Customizing Address Templates
To create a custom address template, follow these steps:
- After entering the Advanced Address Settings page by clicking the Manage button, go to the Template Management tab and choose Create template.
- Select countries/regions that you want to customize the address template for, and click OK.
Note: For countries/regions without a custom address template, we will display the default template.
- Template settings: This section consists of layout settings and field settings.

- You can drag and adjust the sorting and positioning of fields. Each row can display up to three fields.
- You can adjust the headline text, multilingual options, and input style for specific address fields. However, certain fields that don’t support uploading private addresses can’t be adjusted.
- You can drag and adjust the sorting and positioning of fields. Each row can display up to three fields.
- Create multiple custom address templates and preview these created templates.

- You can create custom templates for different countries/regions based on your business needs.
- You can use the search feature to pinpoint the custom templates you have created.
Uploading Address Data
For address fields set as Select country, you need to upload data for the corresponding country/region in Address data management.
Note: Uploading address data is currently not supported in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam. |
For example, if you want to upload data for the city layer in Egypt:
- Prepare the city data and ensure that you select Egypt in your custom template. In the Address Data Management section, select Egypt and click Import.
- Download the Import Template and paste your prepared Egyptian city data into the “add_level_2” column.
Note: Do not modify the headers of the import template. - Upload the file and click Import.

- Currently, the maximum upload level is Level 3.
- Upload Instructions:
- When uploading the city field under a particular country or region, the first column in the import template is automatically filled with an asterisk (*), indicating that this address level has been skipped (do not fill in any other content in this column).

Enabling/Disabling Advanced Address Settings
After setting up the first two modules, return to the checkout settings page. Check Enable Custom Configuration and click Update.
If you don’t wish to use the custom template and address data, Simply deselect the box and your configuration data will not be cleared. If you want to use the custom configuration data again in the future, the box again.
