Adding Tyro as a Third-party Service Provider
The Tyro gateway supports both Windows and iOS devices, allowing you to configure Tyro payment methods based on your operating system.
- From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to POS > Settings > Payments.
- Choose the store you want to enable Tyro for and click Modify payment plan.
- Locate the Third-party provider module and click Add a third-party provider > Select payment service provider.
- From the list of third-party providers, select Tyro Windows or Tyro (for iOS), then click Confirm.
- Select the types of bank card payments supported by Tyro, and click Update.
After adding Tyro as a third-party provider, you can find it displayed on the Third-party provider module.
Installing Tyro Terminal in POS App
You can set up the Tyro EFTPOS device in the SHOPLINE POS app by following these steps:
- Open the SHOPLINE POS app and click on the hamburger icon in the upper left corner.
- Go to Setting > Cash registration process setting. Then, click Payment management.
- Click Tyro under the Integrated Payment section.
- On the Tyro terminal management page, click Add a device.
- Select the device model for installation.
- On the configuration page, follow the steps to access the Merchant ID (MID) and Terminal ID (TID). Then, click Next.
- Enter the Merchant ID and Terminal ID provided by Tyro. Click Authorise to process pairing and complete the installation.

Collecting Payments with Tyro
After successful pairing, you can use Tyro to collect payments.
- Select the product, click Pay, enter the checkout page, and select Tyro Payment.
- On the Tyro transaction processing page, perform relevant operations according to the prompts on the page, and guide the customer to swipe the card at the Tyro terminal or take other actions.
- Tyro will return the processing result, and the Approved tag indicates the payment is successful. Click Completed in the upper right corner to enter the details page.
- On the details page, you can view the order result, and choose to print the receipt. Click Complete to end the transaction and return to the POS homepage.
Refunding or Canceling Transactions with Tyro
Refunding a Transaction
Shopline POS supports you to process refunds for customers offline, and can refund partially or in full. The refund amount will be returned to the customer's account in the original payment method. The processing time depends on Tyro and the bank.
To initiate a refund, follow the steps below:
- On the Shopline POS homepage, click the sandwich icon in the upper left corner and select Order.
- Find the order you are going to refund and click the Returns button.
- The default refund amount is the total payment amount of the order. You can also enter any refund amount based on your needs, but it can only be less than or equal to the total amount. Confirm the amount and click Refund.
- Perform relevant operations according to the prompts on the page.
- Tyro will return the processing result, and the Approved tag indicates the refund is successful. Click Completed in the upper right corner to enter the details page.
- On the details page, you can view the refund result, and choose to print the receipt. Click Complete to end the refund process and return to the POS homepage.
Canceling a Transaction
You may need to cancel a transaction for reasons like the customer changes their mind. During the process of a transaction or refund on the POS, you can cancel it as long as before the payment result hasn’t been returned from Tryo.

Frequently Asked Questions about Tyro
The store has enabled Tyro, why can't I see the Tyro payment channel on the Payment page when I enter SHOPLINE admin panel > POS?
SHOPLINE will determine the availability of the payment method according to the store settings and transaction information, and hide it when the payment method is not supported.
Currently, Tyro is only supported for Australian merchants, so only Australian merchants can find the Tyro payment channel on POS after activation.
How to change and disconnect the Tyro terminal?
To change to another terminal: 1 Tyro terminal can only be paired with 1 SHOPLINE POS at a time:
- If you need to change the paired Tyro terminal to other Shopline POS:
- On your Tyro terminal, click Menu > Configuration > Integrated EFTPOS > Clear pairing, and click OK. The Tyro terminal will be disconnected from the original POS device.
- Follow the pairing process on the new Shopline POS, enter the MID and TID of the Tyro terminal, and the Tyro terminal will be paired to the new Shopline POS.
- If you want to connect another Tyro terminal to the Shopline POS that has been paired with Tyro terminals:
- Follow the pairing process on the Shopline POS, enter the MID and TID of the new Tyro terminal, and the Shopline POS will be successfully paired with the new Tyro terminal.
To disconnect the terminal: If you no longer need to use the Tyro channel , you can directly deactivate the Tyro channel in the SHOPLINE admin panel.
What are the countries/regions and currencies that Tyro supports? What’s the limit on payment amount ?
Only Australia is supported.
AUD is the currency for local transactions, retaining two digits of precision. In addition, Tyro provides the DCC dynamic currency conversion. International cardholders of Mastercard and Visa can complete the payment in their foreign card currency at a transparent exchange rate specified at the time of transaction. As for the payment amount limit, the single transaction limit for Visa is 999,999.99 AUD. Other card schemes have a single transaction limit of 99,999.99 AUD. For details, refer to Tyro's official description.
What payment methods does Tyro support?
Tyro integrates most payment methods and supports mainstream Australian payment methods such as credit card, debit card, Afterpay, Zip, and Alipay. Supported card schemes include Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amex, UnionPay, EftPos, Diners, and more. The specific available payment methods depend on whether you have activated them in Tyro. Why is your Tyro transaction rejected or abnormal?
If your transaction returns failure and other abnormal results, it means that Tyro tried to execute the EFTPOS transaction, but the transaction failed due to the network or the card issuer rejecting the transaction.
