Customizing Email Notifications for Customers

 

Crafting personalized email notification templates for key customer touchpoints offers benefits such as brand consistency, time savings, and improved personalization. 

This guide explores how tailoring customer-relevant email templates can enhance customer engagement, walks you through the setup instructions, and highlights the advantages for businesses seeking to optimize communication and build stronger customer relationships.

Accessing and Editing Email Templates 

Follow these steps to access the email notification templates you can customize for customer communication:

  1. In your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Settings > Notifications.

  2. Locate the Customer module under the Customer email notification section, where you’ll find all available templates for customization. Click the one you want to customize.

  3. After editing the template, click Update.

  4. In the pop-up box, click Confirm update template. The email operator will evaluate the content and notify you upon approval.

Note: Edited templates are reviewed for content compliance, and non-compliant content will be blocked. Refer to "Automatic Review of Email Notification Templates" for details.

 


 

Introduction to Email Templates

This section introduces six key email templates designed to streamline communication with your customers. Each entry explores the appropriate use case for the template, guides you through customizing it, and explains the sending process.

 

Customer Invitation

A. Use Case

This email invites unregistered customers with existing profiles (created from orders or subscriptions) to register for an account. They currently lack the ability to log in with their email or phone number. Use this email to prompt account activation, encouraging them to become your store members. 

Note: The account activation link included in the email will expire after seven days.  

 

B. Template Demonstration

Go to Settings > Notifications in your SHOPLINE admin panel. Then, find the Customer module and click Customer Invitation to access the template.

Note: It’s recommended to enable the account activation Discount to encourage customers to complete the activation process. 

 

C. Sending Email

  1. Go to Customers in your admin panel, search for the customer to whom you want to send the invitation email, and click it to access the customer’s details page.

  2. Click Send invitation in the upper right corner.

  3. Review the email details and content in the pop-up window, then click Send when everything looks good.

Successful Registration

A. Use Case

This email automatically confirms a customer's successful registration and encourages them to explore your store further upon becoming a member.

B. Template Demonstration

Go to Settings > Notifications in your SHOPLINE admin panel. Then, find the Customer module and click Successful Registration to access the template.

C. Sending Email

Enable automatic sending by checking the corresponding box. Customers who register an account will receive an email notification confirming their successful registration and encouraging them to visit the store.

Activation Successful 

A. Use Case

When a customer clicks the Activate account button in the invitation email and completes the activation process, they receive this email to confirm their successful activation and encourage them to visit your store and make purchases.

B. Email Template Demonstration 

Head to Settings > Notifications in your SHOPLINE admin panel. Then, find the Customer module and click Activation Successful to access the template.

C. Sending Email 

Enable automatic sending by checking the corresponding box. Customers who complete the account activation process will receive an email notification confirming their successful activation and encouraging visits to the store.

Activate Discounts

A. Use Case

If you enable the Discount option in the Customer Invitation template, customers who complete account activation will receive an automatic email with a unique discount code to incentivize their first purchase.

Note: To trigger the automatic email sending, you must enable Discount in the Customer Invitation template.

   

B. Email Template Demonstration 

Go to Settings > Notifications in your SHOPLINE admin panel. Then, find the Customer module and click Activate Discounts to access the template.

C. Sending Email 

The system will automatically send the email notification if Discount is enabled in the Customer Invitation email you sent and the customer has completed the account activation process.

 

Reset Password

A. Use Case

Customers who forget their password can reset it using the Forget password feature or request a manual reset by asking you to send the Reset Password email. This allows them to set a new password for login.

Notes: 
  • Only customers who registered with an email can reset their password through the Reset Password email. 
  • The password reset link expires after seven days. Please remind the customer to reset the password promptly.

 

B. Email Template Demonstration 

Head to Settings > Notifications in your SHOPLINE admin panel. Then, locate the Customer module and click Reset Password to access the template.

C. Sending Email 

  1. Click Customers in your SHOPLINE admin panel. Then, select the customer to whom you want to send a password reset email.

  2. In the customer’s details page, click Other actions and select Reset password.

  3. Click Reset password in the confirmation pop-up box.

Contact Clients

A. Use Case

Customize the Contact Clients template to engage with your customers directly, enhancing store personalization, promoting brand image, and fostering customer loyalty.

B. Email Template Demonstration 

Go to Settings > Notifications in your SHOPLINE admin panel. Then, locate the Customer module and click Contact Clients to access the template.

C. Sending Email 

  1. Click Customers in your SHOPLINE admin panel. Then, select the customer to whom you want to send a contact email.

  2. On the customer’s details page, locate the customer’s email address in the Details section and click on it.

  3. In the Contact Clients pop-up, edit and confirm the content of the email. Then, click Preview.
