Setting Up Store Link Thumbnail Images
When you share your store link on social media platforms or messaging apps, a thumbnail image may appear in the link preview. This image helps make your shared link more recognizable and visually appealing.
This guide explains how SHOPLINE selects thumbnail images for different storefront pages, how to upload a backup store link thumbnail image, and how fallback images are applied.
How Thumbnail Images Are Selected
For specific storefront pages, SHOPLINE uses the page’s own image as the link thumbnail:
| Page Type | Thumbnail Image Used |
| Product detail page | Product cover image |
| Product collection page | Collection cover image |
| Blog article page | Article cover image |
For other pages, or when a page-specific image is unavailable, SHOPLINE uses the backup thumbnail image configured in Online Store > Preferences > Store link thumbnail.
Setting Up a Store Link Thumbnail Image
You can upload a backup thumbnail image to be used when sharing your store link on social media platforms, messaging apps, or external websites.
- From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Online Store > Preferences.
Locate the Store link thumbnail section.
Under Upload image, upload your preferred thumbnail image. The suggested image size is 1200 × 628 px.
Once the image is uploaded successfully, the store link thumbnail image is applied.
Fallback Image Priority for Store Link Thumbnail Images
If no page-specific thumbnail image is available, SHOPLINE selects a fallback image in the following order:
- Store link thumbnail image in Online Store > Preferences
- Storefront theme logo configured in Online Store > Design > Theme settings > Logo
- Store logo configured in Settings > Basic settings > Basic store information > Store logo
This fallback logic helps ensure that shared store links can still display a relevant image when no page-specific thumbnail is available.
