Smart Inventory Management: Understanding Purchase Quantity Calculation Rules

When you fill in the minimum order quantity (MOQ) and standard package quantity (SPQ) in the supplier's products, and when you create a purchase order and fill in the purchase quantity, you can click the calculator button to the right of the purchase quantity, and the system will calculate and Fill the purchase quantity that meets the minimum order quantity (MOQ) and standard package quantity (SPQ).

SKU only fills in the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)

Minimum Order Quantity: The minimum purchase quantity of SKU when purchasing from this supplier.

Purchase quantity calculation rules:

• When the input purchase quantity < MOQ, the purchase quantity is automatically changed to MOQ;
• When the input purchase quantity >= MOQ, the purchase quantity remains unchanged;

SKU only fills in the Standard Package Quantity (SPQ)

Standard package quantity: The number of SKUs included in the smallest unit that customers can choose when selling. For example, if 3 cups are sold as a set and cannot be sold individually, the standard package quantity is 3.

Purchase quantity calculation rules:

Purchase quantity = input purchase quantity/SPQ (round up to an integer) * SPQ

Purchase quantity calculation rules:

Compare the input purchase quantity/SPQ (rounded up to an integer) and MOQ, and take the larger value *SPQ = purchase quantity.

Eg:

• Input value/SPQ (rounded up to an integer) * SPQ < MOQ, new purchase quantity = MOQ/SPQ (rounded up) * SPQ;
• Input value/SPQ (rounded up to an integer) * SPQ >= MOQ, new purchase quantity = input value/SPQ (rounded up) * SPQ
