Setting Up Other Payment Methods
You can set up one or more other payment methods, allowing your customers to pay for online orders using options beyond traditional credit and debit cards. Commonly used providers include Affirm, Afterpay, Klarna, Adyen, and Oceanpayment. These payment methods are primarily designed for local payments, installment plans, and bank transfers. They often have strong regional characteristics and enable you to offer multiple localized payment options in your store at the same time.
This article guides you through setting up and managing other payment methods in your SHOPLINE store. It also highlights key local payment options, helping you provide flexible payment choices and deliver a smooth checkout experience for customers across different regions.
Adding Other Payment Methods
SHOPLINE allows you to configure multiple other payment methods for a single store at once, providing the flexibility to add as many as needed. To add other payment methods, follow these steps
Tip: When setting up other payment methods, you may encounter two types of activation: direct addition and application integration. For methods that support direct addition, simply click Add to enable them. For methods requiring app integration, you must first install the app, then configure and activate it before use. |
- From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Settings > Payments.
In the Other payment methods section, click Add to open the payment method selection page.
-
Search the list or scroll through the page to select the desired payment provider.
- Add the payment method based on its activation type:
- Direct activation: If the payment option supports direct addition, click Add to enable it immediately.
-
App integration: If the payment option requires installation before activation, click Install to add the app, then complete the activation process.
Note: Each payment method application has its own verification and configuration requirements, and usually requires linking or creating an account with the payment service provider. Please follow the on-screen instructions to complete activation. Once activated, the payment method will appear at checkout.
- Direct activation: If the payment option supports direct addition, click Add to enable it immediately.
Editing Other Payment Methods
To edit the added other payment methods, follow these steps:
- From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Settings > Payments.
- In the Other payment methods section, click the specific payment method and you will enter the editing page. Modify the relevant information as needed and click Update.
- To stop using a payment method, scroll to the bottom of the editing page and click Deactivate. The payment option will then no longer be available at checkout.
| Note: Once a payment method application is deactivated, it will be removed from the list of available methods. However, if the application is still needed (e.g., for processing order returns), keep it installed. Uninstalling it will prevent you from managing any incomplete order returns. |
