App push notifications are a unique, low-cost, and powerful marketing channel for apps. Users can receive information without opening the app, and the user coverage is broad and the conversion rate is high. For businesses, push notifications can effectively improve app engagement, increase transaction amount, increase user stickiness, and increase user lifetime value. For customers, they can immediately receive account information, order information, and first-hand merchant promotional information.
This article will introduce how to create and manage app push notifications.

Creating Manual Push Notification
Below are 4 simple steps for creating push notifications:
- Create a Push: Go to SHOPLINE admin and click Apps > Shopper App > Push Notification, select the Manual tab, and click on Add Notification on the upper right corner.
- Edit Push Content: Fill in the information in Notification Name, Target Time, Inbox, and Notification Content columns.
- Notification Name: Notification Name is only visible to the store owners for distinguishing different purposes of the push notification.
- Target Time: You can specify notification time to the seconds.
- Inbox: Check the Show in App inbox box if you want to display the push notification in the inbox.
- Notification Content: Set up the title and content of the notification (up to 32 characters for title, 100 for content). You can also set the image and link according to your own preference. Specify the landing page the link goes to (App homepage, product collection pages, or any URL). Please note that there might be limitations to the image files you upload. If you enable Show in App inbox, you can further select the style of the notification in inbox (the layout of text and image).
- Preview Push Notifications: When the content is all set, you can check how the push reflects on mobile devices on the right. If the result is what you expected, click on Save to create the notification.
- Push Test: Click on Test to review the push you just created, input the test email account in the popup window and click Test, you will then receive a push on the test account.
Note: Before testing, make sure the mobile app is installed and logged in on the test device, and also make sure you have allowed push notification.
Managing Push Notification
All the pushes are listed on the Push Notification page. You can check on the status, creation time, and available actions for each push.
Status of notifications and available actions:
- To Be Processed: enables Edit, Test, Cancel, and Copy
- Sent Successfully: enables Test and Copy
- Canceled: enables Test, Delete, and Copy
