Enabling Customer Login with an Apple Account
SHOPLINE supports customers to log in to your store with third-party accounts through Single Sign-On (SSO), providing a seamless and secure login experience. Major providers like Google, Meta, TikTok and Apple, provide such integration for developers. In this article, we’ll introduce how to set up Apple’s Sign In with Apple for your store, allowing customers to quickly and easily register or log in to your store with just one click.

iPhone and other Apple devices occupy a significant share of the digital and mobile devices, making Sign in with Apple the native integration on these devices. Leveraging existing Apple ID credentials, users can effortlessly access multiple apps or services without the hassle of managing numerous usernames and passwords. For developers, it offers easy integration, streamlining authentication processes while maintaining a privacy-centric approach.

Setting up Sign in with Apple in Apple Developer Website
Before configuring it in your SHOPLINE admin panel, you need to obtain the client ID and client secret from the Apple Developer website.
- Go to the Apple Developer website, and click Account in the upper right corner. Log in to your Apple Developer account.
- First, make sure you have joined the Apple Developer Program and become a paid Apple Developer member.
- In Account, click on Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles.
- In the left sidebar, click on Identifiers. Then, in the right pane, click the blue plus sign (+) next to the Identifiers title.
- Select App IDs, then click Continue.
- Select App, then click Continue.
- Next, in the Register an App ID page, fill in Bundle ID and Description to describe this App ID. Description is optional. Then, in the Capabilities section, scroll down and check Sign In with Apple. Once finished, click Continue.
- After the prompt Finish Setting up Sign in with Apple appears, click Register.
- Now you see the App ID is successfully created when returning to the Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles page. Click the blue plus sign (+) again.
- Select Service IDs and click Continue.
- Follow the prompts when filling in Description and Identifier. Once finished, click Continue.
- Confirm the configuration, then click Register.
- After the successful creation of the Service ID, click on it from the identifier list to start configuration.
- Check Sign In with Apple, then click Configure.
- In the Web Authentication Configuration modal, complete the following actions:
- In Primary App ID, select the App ID you just created from the dropdown list.
- In Domains and Subdomains, fill in your store domain.

In Return URLs, enter the URL(s) of your store’s login page. The required URL depends on whether you are using the Classic customer account, New customer account, or both.
Classic customer account
Append "/user/signIn" to your store domain. For example:

If your store domain is: https://abcd.myshopline.com
Your login URL will be: https://abcd.myshopline.com/user/signIn

If you use a custom domain: https://abcd.wxyz.com
Your login URL will be: https://abcd.wxyz.com/user/signIn
New customer account
Append "/account/signIn" to your store domain. For example:

If your store domain is: https://abcd.myshopline.com
Your login URL will be: https://abcd.myshopline.com/account/signIn

If you use a custom domain: https://abcd.wxyz.com
Your login URL will be: https://abcd.wxyz.com/account/signIn
If both Classic and New customer accounts are enabled
Enter both login URLs in the field, placing each URL on a separate line (use the Enter key to separate them).
Note: The URLs above are examples only. Please make sure to replace them with your actual store URL. You may refer to your store’s homepage URL as a reference -
Once finished, click Next.
- Confirm your configuration and click Done. Copy and save the Identifier for the later configuration in the SHOPLINE admin panel.

Enabling Login with Apple in SHOPLINE
Follow the steps below to enable login with Apple for your store:
- In your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Settings > Customer account > General settings.

In the Login through social media section, locate the Apple login option and click Link.

In the pop-up window, enter the Identifier obtained from Apple, then click Save to complete the activation.

The Apple login option will then display a Linked status. Based on your business needs, choose whether to enable third-party login for the Classic customer account, the New customer account, or both in the Account type section.
You've completed the setup. Now, test the feature on your storefront.
