Arise Pro Upgrade: What's New and How to Upgrade – SHOPLINE Help Center

This article highlights the new features of the Arise Pro theme, the upgraded version of Arise, and explains the upgrade process.

The Arise theme is based on OS2.0, while Arise Pro is built on the newer OS2.1, offering superior website performance, SEO friendliness, and design flexibility. After upgrading the theme, the system will automatically create a new Arise Pro theme based on your existing Arise theme, migrating most of your current configurations to streamline the store customization process.

Notes:

The theme upgrade feature allows you to duplicate your existing Arise theme and upgrade it to Arise Pro. This process will not affect any of your original Arise theme settings.
The theme upgrade to Arise Pro is currently in beta testing and not yet available to all merchants. Contact us if you're interested in early access.

Arise Pro Theme Highlights

Arise Pro offers a more comprehensive suite of features and a richer component library. This section highlights the key improvements of this new theme version. For a detailed comparison of the new and old component libraries, please refer to the Theme Component Comparison section below.

Promotional Cards: The Product list component in the Collections page now includes an Add promotion card feature, providing more exposure for promotional campaigns.
Similar Product Recommendations: Configure the Recommended products component on the product page. The system will automatically recommend products with similar attributes to the current product being viewed, based on an algorithm-based analysis of all store products.
Empty Cart Recommendations: The Cart section in Theme settings now includes an Empty cart recommendations setting, helping to increase exposure for featured products.
Card Customization: Cards in the Theme settings section support more style customization options, including Product cards, Collection cards, and Blog cards.
Padding by Section: The Padding by section feature has been added, allowing for flexible adjustment of spacing between components and pages.

Arise vs. Arise Pro Component Comparison

Before deciding to upgrade, you can compare the differences between the Arise and Arise Pro themes to understand how your configuration capabilities will change.

Notes:

The system cannot migrate features that are not supported by the Arise Pro theme. You may manually add other components or plugins to achieve the same effects. Currently unsupported features include:
- Certain filter-related components on the Collections page
- Related articles component on blog pages
- The product summary display you've set on the product details page in the admin panel
While there might be slight variations in style, such as font size or spacing, between the Arise and Arise Pro themes on some pages, these differences will not affect the overall functionality of the theme.

Upgrading to the Arise Pro Theme

To upgrade your theme from Arise to Arise Pro, follow these steps:

From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Channels > Online Store. Locate the Arise theme you wish to upgrade.
Click on the current version of the theme and then select the Upgrade theme button.
Once the upgrade is complete, a draft version of the Arise Pro theme will be generated. Customize and review the theme until you're satisfied, then publish it.
