Guide to Dual Price Display – SHOPLINE Help Center

The app enables dual price (include and exclude tax) display on storefront on homepages, product listing pages, detail pages, checkout page, and any other page that displays products.

The Dual Price Display is recommended for the European markets, especially for B2B customers who need to be exempt from VAT (Value Added Tax).

Below are the process for exempting VAT for B2B customers:

Set up a tax exemption for the customer in the Admin panel. (Please contact your account manager to enable this feature)
If you are selling in multiple countries/regions simultaneously, please remember to configure multiple markets and enable the markets selector in the theme.
Follow the steps below of the Dual Price Display app to set the displayed prices on the page with both tax prices.

After the setup, the transaction process for business customers (B2B) on the front end is as follows:

The app takes effect on the front end when tax-exempt business customers browse the website. They can view both tax prices that have been configured.
When business customers proceed to checkout, the system calculates tax exemption based on the tax management settings. The customer completes the checkout process.

Preparation, Currency and Tax Setting

Before enabling dual price display, please make sure the tax and currency settings are well set to avoid configuration conflict.

Go to SHOPLINE App Store, search for Dual Price Display and install the app, or go to Apps and click on the app.

Currency Setting

Please follow the steps below to configure the currency format settings so that the app can correctly display your customized price display styles:

Go to SHOPLINE Admin and click on Settings > Basic settings.
Find the Payment currency section and click on Edit format.
Find the designated currency and paste the below content into Format with currency code column.

For example, if your target currency is GBP, edit the “Format with currency code” column to:
£{{amount}} GBP

Note: You can simply copy the format provided by the app and adjust the currency block to the corresponding currency code.

Click on Save.
Switch the Custom currency format toggle on.

Tax Settings

Please configure the countries for which you wish to display dual prices. If you haven’t completed the configuration yet, go to SHOPLINE Admin > Settings > Taxes and Fees. For a more detailed tax configuration, please visit Setting up taxes for further setups.

Note: Please uncheck the All prices include tax checkbox in the “Taxes and Fees” settings > “Tax collection method” section if you are applying a dual price display to avoid setting conflict.

Customize Dual Price Display in the App

You can customize the size, color, text, and display of the price in the app, with a preview available on the right side of the page.

Price display: you can choose to display the tax-included or tax-excluded price first.
Font size: select the font size of the bottom price for the best visualization.
Text format: the text shown in the storefront is editable. You can also change the text color to fit your brand image.

Note:

Your settings will affect all price-related information on your storefront, such as the homepage, product listing and details page, and shopping carts.
Prices displayed on the app are based on the customer's selected region. Actual tax charges will be calculated at the checkout page.

Enable Storefront Visibility

After setting, please remember to enable visibility on the storefront in SHOPLINE Admin. Go to Online Store > Design > My theme tab > Design.

Click on the App embeds icon and turn on the toggle for Dual Price Display, you can decide whether you want to make dual price visible in the cart by the additional toggle, and you will be all set!

Note: Themes available for the app are Seed, Arise, Morden, North, Charm and Extent.
