Facebook Customer Management
In the channel of Facebook, the Customer management module is where we integrate Meta customers-related functions. In this module, you can manage your audience segments, enable customers to subscribe to Messenger messages, etc., to facilitate your subsequent communication and interaction with customers through social media and advertising.
Audience Management
Audience management helps you upload your SHOPLINE customer data to Meta. It finds qualified customers and uploads them to Meta. Meta can match corresponding users in their internal data so that your ads can be shown to them on Facebook, Instagram, and Audience Network.
By creating custom audiences, you can filter and retarget people who have shown an interest in your business, whether they are loyal customers who have purchased products from your online store or visitors who visited your website.
You can also use this function to deliver your ads to people who are similar to your existing customers. After you create a custom audience as the source audience, the Meta platform's lookalike audiences function will create new audiences similar to existing audiences for advertising and therefore expand your reach.
Asset Authorization
To use this feature, you need to authorize the relevant assets to SHOPLINE first. Follow the steps below:
- Go to your SHOPLINE admin panel.
- From the left sidebar, click Channel and select Facebook.
- Click the View button in the Customer management section.
- Click the Authorize button under the Audience management section and select the I got it button in the pop-up window to continue the authorization process.
- Confirm your Facebook login account and click Continue as [your account].
- Read through the instructions regarding the association between your SHOPLINE online store and Facebook, and click Next.
- Select the assets to be connected and click Next.
- Authorize which actions SHOPLINE can perform, and click Next.
- You have completed the asset connection process. Click Return to SHOPLINE.
Note: Ensure that the ad account you’re going to authorize has accepted Meta’s Customer List Custom Audience Terms, otherwise the audience data will not be able to be synchronized to Meta. |
Create Audience
After authorization is completed, you can start to create an audience. Follow these steps:
- Click the Create Audience button in the Audience data block.
- Click or drag the conditions you need from the Conditions list on the left to the Condition design area on the right. Define the condition’s values and the logical operators between conditions based on your needs. Repeat this step until your condition set is ready.
- In the Audience name and Audience description fields, provide the name and description. Description is optional.
- If you want to know the audience size in your condition set, you can click the Calculate button in the Size section.
- Click the Create button.
The system will automatically calculate how many people match the established rules and display the number in the Audience Size field. At the same time, the system will also synchronize the final number of people to Meta to create a custom audience. Here are a few key points involved in the data processing process:
- Data processing upper limit: The size of a single audience currently supports up to 1 million. If you need to expand the limit, please contact us.
- Data update restriction: After the audience is created/edited, the number of people will be calculated immediately and synchronized to Meta. During the calculation, to avoid data confusion, editing of this audience will not be allowed.
- Data update frequency: The number of people will be automatically recalculated based on the audience conditions and the latest number is synchronized to Meta.
- Data security specifications: Before your customer list is sent to Meta to create an audience, we will encrypt the list using hashing techniques, a security method recognized by the Meta platform, to convert personally identifiable information into irreversibly random codes.
Business Data Management
Business data management controls whether customers can subscribe to your Messenger messages during checkout in your online store. Once configured, you are able to develop personalized marketing plans through Messenger to reach this group of subscribers.
Asset Authorization
You need to first authorize the relevant assets to SHOPLINE, please follow the steps below:
- Go to your SHOPLINE admin panel.
- From the left sidebar, click Channel and select Facebook.
- Click the View button in the Customer management section.
- Click the Authorize button under the Business data management section.
- Confirm your Facebook login account and click Continue as [your account].
- Read through the instructions regarding the association between your SHOPLINE online store and Facebook, and click Next.
- Select the assets to be connected and click Next.
- Click Agree to agree to Facebook’s Business Messaging Tools Terms.
- Authorize which actions SHOPLINE can perform, and click Next.
- You have completed the asset connection process. Click Return to SHOPLINE.
After authorization is completed, customers will be able to subscribe to your Messenger messages on the order checkout page of your online store.
After customers subscribe, you can view who has subscribed to your messages in Meta Business Suite > Contacts and contact them directly through Messenger.
