Tax-Free Setting

Depending on your store’s locations and/or target customers, transactions happening in certain stores may be exempt from taxes. For example, duty-free shops located in international airports. SHOPLINE POS allows you to flexibly manage whether taxes (basic consumption tax) are collected during checkout, tailored to your specific needs.

 

 

Enabling Tax-Exemption

  1. In your POS app, tap the hamburger icon in the upper left corner, and then tap Setting.

  2. Tap into Cash registration process setting> Tax settings.

  3. Turn off the Tax payable at checkout toggle. Taxes are not collected for all products in the store during checkout. This toggle is turned on by default.

Note:
  • When refunding an order, taxes are refunded if taxes were collected at the time of the order being placed. It doesn’t depend on this tax-exemption setting.
  • Exchanging items in a tax-exempt order is currently not supported.

 

 

Tax Display

With the Tax payable at checkout toggle turned on, the tax amount is displayed on a separate line in the shopping cart and checkout page. Customers pay both the amount for the items and the applicable tax amount.

With the Tax payable at checkout toggle turned off, the tax amount is not displayed in the shopping cart and checkout pages. Customers only pay for the items.
