Amount Input Sequence
Different countries and regions have different preferences for entering amounts on POS devices. Some prefer to enter the amount from the highest digit, while others prefer to enter it from the smallest denomination.
SHOPLINE POS caters to these variations by allowing you to choose your preferred sequence input setting. Once configured, this setting will be applied to all amount input fields within the app.
Understanding Input Sequence Types
There are two main input methods for entering amounts:
- Starting from the highest digit: Enter the amount like you would read a whole number, beginning with the most significant digits (e.g., 1234.56 would be entered as 1-12-123-1,234-1,234.5-1,234.56).
- Entering from the decimal places: Begin with the lowest digit and work your way up (e.g., 1234.56 would be entered as 0.01-0.12-1.23-12.34-123.45-1,234.56).
