Product Upsells & Bundles: Advanced Settings
This guide explains how to configure Advanced Settings in the Product Upsells and Bundles app.
These settings let you control how bundle promotions interact with discounts, how many bundles are displayed on product detail pages, how bundles behave when products become unavailable, and how bundles are presented on the storefront.
Accessing the Advanced Settings Page
To configure advanced bundle behavior, you must first access the Advanced settings page in the app. Follow these steps:
- From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Apps and open Product Upsells & Bundles.
-
Go to the Product bundle tab and click Set now in the Advanced settings section.
You will be taken to the Advanced settings page, where you can configure discount rules, bundle display logic, and widget presentation.
Configuring Discount Settings
This section explains how to control discount stacking and partial bundle discount rules for bundle promotions.
To configure discount-related options:
- On the Advanced settings page, locate the Discount setting section.
-
Configure the following options:
- Stack with discount code: By default, bundled products cannot be used together with discount codes. When this option is enabled, bundle promotions can be combined with discount codes; however, please note that Buy X Get Y discounts are not stackable.
- Discount for partial bundles: Allow customers to receive bundle discounts when purchasing only part of a bundle, based on a minimum number of different products.
- Click Update to save the settings.
Configuring Bundle Display Rules
Bundle display rules control how many bundles appear on product pages and which types of bundles are eligible for display.
Setting the Maximum Number of Displayed Bundles
You can define how many bundle promotions appear on a single product detail page:
- From the Advanced settings page, go to Bundle display rules.
-
Under Display quantity of bundles for a product, configure the maximum number of bundles that can be displayed on a product detail page:
- Minimum: 1
- Maximum: 3
Selecting Recommendation Methods
In Recommendation method selection, you can choose which bundle types to display on the storefront:
-
In Recommendation method selection, select the bundle types you want to display:
- Manual tie-in bundles are applied by default.
- Automatic bundles and Global bundle recommendations are enabled by default but can be deselected.
- The storefront displays bundles based on the following priority:
- Manual tie-in bundles
- Automatic bundles
- Global bundle recommendations
If the number of higher-priority bundles exceeds the display limit for a single product, lower-priority bundles will not be shown. If higher-priority bundles are unavailable, lower-priority bundles may be displayed instead.
Configuring Product Display Rules
Product display rules determine whether a bundle continues to display on the storefront when products within the bundle become unavailable.
By default, Product display rules are disabled. When this setting is disabled, the entire bundle will not be displayed if any product in the bundle is deleted, unpublished, or out of stock.
When Product display rules are enabled, the system applies more flexible display logic:
- The bundle can continue to display as long as at least one bundled product (excluding the main product) remains available.
- If the main product is deleted, unpublished, or out of stock, the entire bundle will not be displayed.
After completing all of the above configurations, click Update to save the settings.
This setting helps balance bundle exposure while preventing incomplete or invalid bundle displays.
Configuring Bundle Display Style
In the Style setting section, you can choose how the bundle widget is added and displayed on your product detail pages.
Follow these steps to configure the display method:
- From the Advanced settings page, go to Style setting.
-
In the Method section, select one of the following options:
- Automatically embed widget: The system automatically inserts the bundle widget into supported product detail pages.
- Manually add Product bundles block to your theme: You manually add the bundle block to your theme using the theme editor.
- Click Update to save the settings.
This setting controls how the bundle widget is embedded on product pages.
