Creating Product Bundles for Livestream Sales
A product bundle is essentially a combination of products. You select one item as the main product and associate other items with it to form a bundle and for sale in your livestream. When a customer comments with a keyword to add this main product, the associated products are automatically added to the same order.
Benefits of Product Bundles
Customers often buy related or complementary products together. With the product bundle feature, they only need to add one product to their cart to enjoy multiple products. This feature brings you the following benefits:
Increased Sales Through Upselling
You can create a bundle combining a main product with complementary products, such as a camera with additional lenses and accessories. When customers add the camera to their cart, they automatically get the entire bundle. This approach encourages customers to buy more than they might individually, leading to increased sales and higher average order value.
Simplified Customer Experience
You can bundle related items together, such as a skincare set containing cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Customers can add the entire set to their cart with a single keyword. This simplifies the shopping experience for customers, reducing steps and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Effective Inventory Management
You may have a surplus of certain products and want to clear inventory efficiently. By creating a bundle that includes these products with a popular main product, you can promote and sell off excess stock. This strategy helps in managing and reducing excess inventory, minimizing storage costs, and improving cash flow by turning over slow-moving items faster.
Creating a Product Bundle
Follow the steps below to create a product bundle.
- From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to the Live Shopping channel.
- Scroll down to the Settings section and click the Set button next to Keywords and rules.
- Switch to the Product bundle settings tab, and click the Create a bundle button.
- In the pop-up window that appears, choose the main product for the bundle and click the Add button.
- On the bundle editing page, click the Select products button.
- In the pop-up window that appears, choose one or more sub-products. The main product won’t be listed. Click the Select button to finish selection.
- Configure the bundle and sub-products, including the quantity of sub-products, bundle price, and inventory according to your needs.
Note: - Except for sub-product quantities, any other changes will overwrite the current product data.
- Setting a bundle price in the Combo price field actually changes the main product’s price in your Products module. You’ll need to deliver all bundled products to customers leaving the main product’s keyword.
- Click Update to create the virtual bundle.
Managing Product Bundles
When returning to the Product bundle settings tab, you will see the newly created virtual bundle. The list displays the number of sub-products included in the bundle and the status of the bundle.
You can activate the bundle by turning on the toggle. This allows customers to purchase the bundle at the specified bundle price. Turn it off to deactivate the bundle. Customers can then buy the main product alone, but won't get the bundle discount (they won’t receive sub-products). However, the main product's price will still be the bundle price. You'll need to adjust it manually if needed.
Please note that disabling the bundle just makes the bundle unavailable in the livestream, but doesn’t disassociate the products in the bundle. To completely delete the bundle, you need to remove all associated sub-products.
Listing Products Bundles
You can add the bundle to your livestream for sale. A Virtual bundle tag will be added to it.
When customers comment with the keyword to add the bundle to cart and complete the checkout, the order will automatically include the main product and all sub-products.
- Main Product Quantity: The number of main products is the quantity in the customer comment.
- Sub-Product Quantity: The quantity of sub-products is calculated by multiplying the number of main products by the quantity you specified for each sub-product when creating the bundle. For example, if the main product is associated with 2 sub-product A and 3 sub-product B, purchasing 3 main products will give the customer 6 sub-product A and 9 sub-product B.
Considerations
- If you create a bundle for livestream sales, customers can also enjoy the bundle discount when purchasing the bundle from your online store.
- To provide customers with both the options to purchase the bundle and the main product individually in a livestream, consider creating the bundle and also creating the main product as a new product and adding it to the livestream sale as standalone products (with unique keywords).
