SHOPLINE Payments Discontinues Services for Mainland China Entities
Why is SHOPLINE Payments discontinuing its acquiring services for Mainland China entities?
Due to newly issued domestic payment management regulations, SHOPLINE Payments, as a licensed foreign payment institution, can’t directly provide payment services to merchants with entities in Mainland China. Therefore, SHOPLINE Payments will cease its acquiring services for merchants in Mainland China.
When will SHOPLINE Payments discontinue its services?
SHOPLINE Payments will stop accepting applications from Mainland China entities on July 15. Applications currently under review will be returned. For merchants currently using SHOPLINE Payments, SHOPLINE Payments will assist in transitioning to third-party gateways or other SHOPLINE Payments regions. Please pay attention to email notifications from SHOPLINE Payments.
How will SHOPLINE Payments handle merchant account balances, and where can funds be tracked after discontinuation?
Merchants' transaction funds will be withdrawn as agreed upon previously. Related deposits will also be released as per the agreement. Even after the acquiring ability is terminated, merchants must handle refunds, fraud, chargebacks, complaints, and other related issues from previous transactions. After 180 days from the last transaction, merchants can contact SHOPLINE customer service and submit a ticket to settle all funds. Once all transaction funds and deposits are released and successfully withdrawn, the acquiring service relationship with SHOPLINE Payments will officially end.
How will SHOPLINE Payments assist merchants with credit card acquiring for their stores after service discontinuation?
Merchants with overseas entities and 3-6 months of historical transaction records can submit applications using the overseas entity via the admin panel. For merchants without overseas entities, it is recommended to use third-party gateways officially partnered with SHOPLINE Payments.
