Manually Offering Discounts
You can only offer or edit discounts for draft orders. If the draft order is paid and becomes an order, or an order is directly placed without the draft stage, offering discounts is not possible. Learn more about draft orders.
The way to offer discounts is the same across Live Shopping, Post Shopping, and Message Center. Let’s take Live Shopping as an example of how to do it.
- In the livestream studio, go to the Message Management tab and find the message list. Click the View orders icon of the customer you want to offer discounts.
- The customer’s order list pops out on the right side. Click the draft order for which you want to create a manual discount.
- On the draft order details page, you can create discounts on either the product level or the order level.
- To create a discount for a specific product, click the blue price tag below the product title.
- In the Edit discount popup, select the discount type (Fixed amount or Percentage) and discount amount. The discount amount cannot exceed the product price. Optionally, leave a note for your record. The note is only visible to you. Click Apply and the product price will be updated to the discounted price.
- To create a discount for the entire draft order, scroll down to the Collect payment section and click Edit discount in blue.
- In the Edit discount popup, specify the discount amount. The discount amount cannot exceed the product price. Percentage discounts are not available on the order level. Optionally, leave a note for your record. The note is only visible to you. Click Update.
- The product-level and order-level discounts are reflected under the Subtotal and the Edit discount line item, respectively. The discounts are stacked and reflected under the Total line item.
Note: The final amount that the customer pays may not equal the discounted amount displayed here. Eligible discounts from your marketing campaigns can be stacked when the customer checks out. |
Managing Staff’s Permission
There are two levels of permissions: view and create/edit/remove.
- View: Default for all employees and does not require permission management. Staff can only view the manual discounts.
- Create/Edit/Delete: Only the store owner and manager have these permissions by default. Staff with the other roles need to be manually granted these permissions. Authorized staff can create, edit, and delete manual discouns.
The Create/Edit/Delete permission isn’t shared across Live Shopping, Post Shopping, and Message Center. You need to manage the permissions for staff separately.
