Enabling Unified Shopping Cart For Your Customers (Coming Soon)
In today’s multi-device world, customers may start their shopping journey on a desktop browser and complete their purchase in your mobile app. To help you provide your customers a seamless, uninterrupted experience, SHOPLINE now supports account-based shopping cart synchronization, allowing your customers to keep their cart items in sync across multiple devices by just logging into the same account.
Prerequisites
To enable shopping cart synchronization, the following conditions must be met:
- Plan: This feature is available only for merchants on Enterprise plan. To apply for an Enterprise plan, contact us.
- Theme: The feature is only compatible with OS 2.1 themes.
Enabling This Feature
Follow the steps below to enable this feature:
- From your admin panel, go to Settings > Checkout settings.
- In the Shopping cart section, check the box before Automatically sync products already in the cart when customers log in.
Now, customers logged into the same account on multiple devices will have their cart items synchronized. This feature offers them the flexibility to continue their purchase on any device seamlessly.
How Account-based Cart Synchronization Works
Without this feature, the shopping cart status relies on browser cookies. Whether customers log in or not, their cart items can’t be synced across devices. If a customer switches to another device, They will need to start over and add the items to their cart again.
With this feature enabled, the system identifies shopping carts on different devices under the same account and merges them into a single cart. A customer can continue their purchase on another device.
Please note that if you turn it off later, logged-in customers can no longer enjoy the synchronization of cart items.
Limitations
- Cart Line Limit: A cart can contain up to 100 lines. Synchronization will skip any lines beyond this limit.
- Item Quantity Limit: Each line can contain up to 99,999 units of a product. If exceeded, the system will generate a second line for the product to continue synchronization.
- Sorting Rule: Items in the synchronized cart will be sorted by the time added, with the most recently added items appearing first.
