Smart Feed: Understanding Field Mapping Rules for Product Migration
This guide explains how to interpret and handle discrepancies between original TSV file data and Smart Feed preview values during product migration. It covers field mapping rules, possible scenarios, and suggested actions for handling mismatches.
Terminology
Smart Feed Preview Values
- Product ID
- For migrated products, the Product ID is rendered based on the Product ID rule configured in the Multi-Platform Store Migration app.
- For newly listed products in SHOPLINE, the Product ID is rendered based on the rule set in Smart Feed > Product field rules > Product ID.
- Other product fields (such as Item Group ID, Product Title, etc.)
- These are rendered according to the rules configured in Smart Feed > Product field rules.

Field Matching Guidelines
Key Fields to Pay Attention To
- Product ID: For migrated products, the Product ID should remain consistent before and after migration.
- Custom Labels (0–4): These are commonly used for ad targeting. It is recommended to ensure they remain consistent before and after migration.
General Fields
Other fields can be configured to pull values from the SHOPLINE admin or use fixed values. If Smart Feed preview values do not meet expectations, you can:
- Adjust the field rules in Smart Feed, or
- Check whether the product data has been fully migrated in the SHOPLINE admin.
Field Matching Scenarios and How to Address Discrepancies
Matching Scenarios
- Identical values: If the TSV original data matches the Smart Feed preview value exactly, the product information has been migrated successfully.
- Different values: This may indicate that the product migration is incomplete, the product has been deleted, or the field rules are misconfigured.
How to Handle Different Scenarios
When Values Are Identical
No action is required. The product information has been migrated correctly.
When Values Are Different
It is recommended to focus first on key fields, especially the Product ID.
If Product IDs Do Not Match:
- Both TSV data and Smart Feed preview have values, but they differ: Check the Multi-Platform Store Migration settings and confirm that the GMC Item ID rule matches the Product ID used in the TSV file. If the rule is incorrect, reconfigure it and perform the migration again.
- TSV Product ID is empty, but Smart Feed preview has a value: This indicates a newly listed product in SHOPLINE. You can safely ignore this difference.
- TSV Product ID has a value, but Smart Feed preview is empty: This may indicate that this product has not yet been migrated to SHOPLINE yet, may still be syncing to Smart Feed, or may have been deleted, unpublished, or hidden in SHOPLINE. You can try checking again later or temporarily ignore it.
If Product IDs Match but Other Fields Do Not:
- Check the Product Field Rules in Smart Feed.
- If the rules are correct, go to SHOPLINE Admin > Products to verify whether the product information has been fully completed.
- If questions remain after these checks, please contact your account manager.
Example: Field Interpretations and Actions
| Smart Feed Preview Value | TSV Original Data | Interpretation & Suggested Action |
| 181xxxxx | 181xxxxx | Product ID matches successfully. No action needed. |
| – | 473xxxx | The product has not yet synced to Smart Feed. It may still be migrating, queued for sync, or has been unpublished, deleted, or hidden in SHOPLINE. Recommended actions:
|
| 181xxxxx | – | The product is newly listed and does not exist in the TSV file. Recommended actions:
|
| Catherine Hollow Out Ruched Maxi Dress | Catherine Hollow Out Ruched Maxi Dress | Product title matches successfully. No action needed. |
| Catherine Hollow Out Ruched Maxi Dress | Different Title | Title mismatch, possibly due to migration issues or product updates. Recommended actions:
|
| New Title | – | The product title exists in SHOPLINE but is missing from the TSV file. Recommended action: Check whether the product is newly listed or added after the TSV file was generated. If so, you can ignore this difference. |
Additional Notes for Addressing Discrepancies
- A "-" symbol in the table indicates a missing or empty field in the TSV file.
- Refer to the example scenarios for understanding and addressing discrepancies.
- When issues arise, review the Multi-Platform Store Migration settings to ensure consistency between GMC Item ID rules and TSV file configurations.
