Setting up Password Protection for Your Store

SHOPLINE’s Password Protection feature allows you to set up a login page, adding an extra layer of protection by requiring visitors to enter a password before accessing your store.

When your store is not linked to a custom domain, SHOPLINE automatically activates password protection, with no option to disable it. To regain control, link a custom domain and set it as the main domain before you can disable password protection.

Note: For stores during the trial period, linking a custom domain to the store is not possible. To enable domain linking and disable password protection, a plan purchase is required.

Setting up Password Protection

Password protection is a feature only available for stores with a paid plan and a custom domain. Once you've upgraded your store’s plan and linked your domain, you can enable or disable password protection using the following steps:

  1. From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Online Store > Preferences.
  2. Locate the Password protection section and configure password protection based on your needs.
  • To enable password protection, select Enable password protection, enter the password and message you want to convey to your customers, and click Update.
  • To disable password protection, uncheck the Enable password protection option and click Update. The protection measure will then be removed.

When password protection is active, your customers need to enter the password you set before they can access your store. The message you have created for your customers will appear on the login page as well. To set up password protection and create your message, visit the Setting up Password Protection section.

For stores with password protection enabled yet still under decoration, you can view the decoration effect normally in preview mode. The currently configured password and the shortcut to disable password protection will be displayed at the bottom.
