Setting up Membership Levels
Configuring membership levels for your store can boost customer retention, increase membership numbers, and drive repeat purchases, ultimately fostering brand growth. A well-structured membership level system enables you to efficiently identify high-value customers while incentivizing others to increase their engagement and spending, thereby achieving superior customer relationship management goals.
Follow this guide to learn how to set up membership levels in your Member System app.
Membership Level Configuration
In your Member System app, you can set spending thresholds for membership levels and offer corresponding benefits to enhance customer loyalty. The number of membership levels you can create depends on your subscription plan:

Growth | Up to 3 |
Pro | Up to 5 |
Three membership types are available: Basic, Paid, and Dual. Select the most suitable type for each membership level based on your business needs and combine different levels flexibly for optimal operations. The following table compares the three membership types:

Paid |
Dual |
Best for | Small to mid-sized businesses | Brand-focused businesses | All types of businesses |
Customer Enrollment | Meet a one-time or cumulative spending threshold | Pay to join | Meet a spending threshold or pay to join |
Objectives & Benefits | Enhances customer loyalty, engagement, and repeat purchases | Targets high-loyalty customers to encourage frequent and high-value purchases | Targets high-value customers while encouraging lower-value customers to return |
Membership Validity | Can be set as lifetime or time-limited with automatic downgrade upon expiration | Expires if no purchases are made within a set period, downgrading to non-member status | Validity follows Basic Membership rules for spending-based upgrades and Paid Membership rules for paid upgrades |
Benefit Eligibility | All members of this level receive the same benefits | All members of this level receive the same benefits | Allows for exclusive paid benefits reserved for paid upgrades, with general benefits applicable to all Dual Members. |

-
In the Member System app, go to Membership and click Settings in the upper-right corner.
-
A left-side panel will appear, allowing you to adjust basic settings for both membership levels and paid levels:

Membership Level Settings
-
- Active time of membership level: The default is the store creation date, but you can manually adjust it. Orders placed before the set activation time will not be included in calculations.
- Set standards for upgrading: Choose between Amount spent each time and Total spending. If you select Total Spending, you can further specify the calculation method:
-
-
-
- Accumulated in history: (Default) Membership level is based on the customer's total spending. You can choose to include imported order data. Due to the need to calculate all historical spending, downgrade rules cannot be set in this mode.
- From last upgrade till now: The membership level is based on the customer's spending since their last upgrade.
- Within specific time period: The membership level is based on the customer's spending within a defined time frame.
-
-
-
- Downgrade validity / Spending downgrade: When you select Amount spent each time or the From last upgrade till now or Within specific time period options under Total spending, you can set downgrade rules to encourage member activity. Downgrade methods include:

-
-
-
-
Membership level lock-in criteria:
- The membership level will be locked in if the total spending for a single transaction exceeds the required amount.
- The membership level will be locked in if the total spending during the downgrade period exceeds the required amount.
