Member System allows you to build two types of membership programs: tiered program and paid program. With a tiered membership program, you can create different levels with specific benefits. When members reach a certain threshold, they will be upgraded to the next level and enjoy better benefits. This allows you to effectively retain customers, increase the number of store members, improve the repurchase rate, and develop your brand.

Limits on the Number of Membership Levels
How many levels you can set for your membership program depends on the plan you subscribe to. The Starter plan supports up to 1 membership level, the Growth plan supports up to 3 membership levels, and the Pro plan supports up to 5 membership levels. The Lite plan doesn’t support a tiered membership program.

Enabling/Disabling Membership Levels
You can enable or disable membership levels in Member System at any time by turning on the Enable rule toggle in the upper right corner.
After setting membership levels for your store, make sure to enable the membership level rule. If the dot to the right of Membership in the left navigation bar is green, or the toggle in the Membership levels page is turned on, the membership level rule is enabled.
After the membership level rule is disabled, the membership levels you set will become invalid and will no longer be displayed in the member panel. The benefits and discounted products tied to those levels will also become invalid.
Adding a Membership Level
Please follow below steps to add a membership level
- Go to Member System > Membership > Create now/ Add level
-
Set up the levels
-
- Level name: You can customize the level name, such as Bronze Member. The name will be displayed in the member panel and seen by your customers.
-
Level threshold: You can set a threshold for this level based on a customer's single transaction amount or accumulated consumption amount. You can also select the time period over which the amount is calculated in the basic settings.
- The threshold must increase as the level goes up. The time when the level takes effect can be modified in the basic settings.
-
A member’s level will be recalculated if their order is refunded. Member System will exclude this order and give a new level based on the consumption amount of the remaining orders.
Note: After you modify the transaction amount of the level threshold, all customers’ levels will be recalculated, which may affect the customers at the current level. If their consumption amount does not reach the new threshold you set, they will be downgraded.
-
Member level lock-in rule: You can set a level lock-in amount for the current level. If a customer's consumption amount meets your guaranteed amount, the customer will not be downgraded.
Note: The Member level lock-in rule option is displayed when the levels are not permanently valid.
-
Add a benefit
You can set benefits for this membership level. Currently, the member system supports 6 types of membership benefits: Get more points on upgrade, Exclusive discount, Exclusive cash voucher, Exclusive free shipping coupon, Birth month discounts, and Custom privilege.
You can assign benefits to customers based on their membership level. Get more points on upgrade is a one-time benefit where customers receive bonus points only once, at the time they are upgraded to the new membership level. Other benefits are continuous benefits. For example, customers can enjoy the Exclusive discount benefit whenever they make purchases.
Note: Custom privilege is for display only. Make sure that you can provide the corresponding benefits for your customers. For example, if you advertise a custom privilege such as shipping within 24 hours, you must fulfill the commitment. -
Set the membership level icon
You can use the default icon or upload a customized icon. - Click Save to complete.

Basic Settings
If you are a merchant on the Growth or Pro plan, you can uniformly edit the Active time of membership level, Level threshold, and Downgrade rules information by clicking Edit on the top to design more refined membership level rules and complete finer-grained membership level management.
Note: After you modify basic settings, all customers’ levels will be recalculated, which may affect the customers at the current level. If their consumption amount does not reach the new threshold you set, they will be downgraded. |
Active time of membership level
By default, the active time of membership level is set as the creation date of the store. Orders placed before this date will not be accumulated. You can edit this date.
Level threshold
You can set standards for membership upgrade and choose between Amount spent each time and Accumulated consumption amount as the upgrade threshold.
If you choose Accumulated consumption amount, you can further define the time range for calculating the consumption amount.
- Accumulated in history: calculates the membership level based on the customer's accumulated consumption amount. This time range is selected by default.
- From last upgrade till now: calculates the membership level based on the customer's consumption amount from last upgrade till now.
- Within specific time period: calculates the membership level based on the customer's consumption amount within a fixed time period.
Downgrade rules
Setting membership level downgrade rules can stimulate customers to stay active in your store.
There are two types of downgrade rules:
- Downgrade validity
- Level is permanently valid
- Downgrade after 1 calendar year (The membership level can be maintained for 1 year from the date of acquisition.)
- Custom validity period
- Downgrade of transaction amount
- If the accumulated consumption amount is insufficient due to refunds and other reasons, the member will be downgraded automatically.
Member level lock-in rule
If you set Downgrade validity, you can also set Member level lock-in rule to stimulate customers to spend to stay at the level.
To set Member level lock-in rule, you must set Level threshold to Single transaction amount and Downgrade rules to Downgrade after 1 calendar year or Custom validity period.
When you set Member level lock-in rule, you can set Member level lock-in standard and Extended length of validity period:
- Member level lock-in standard: Customers will not be downgraded when the single transaction amount or the accumulated consumption amount within the validity period of the level reaches the current level guarantee standard.
- Extended length of validity period: the duration for which the membership level is extended after customers successfully maintain their current level.
After you set the Member level lock-in rule, you also need to set the amount required for each level of membership to be guaranteed in the setting page for each level.
