You can set specific discounts for customers who enter the store through an affiliate link. They will then see the affiliate discounts you've set and can copy and use the discount code to receive exclusive discounts when placing an order.

This article will explore how to set basic discounts and special affiliate discounts.

Setting Up Discounts

To establish a general Discount for your store's affiliation program, visible to all customers brought in by affiliates, follow these steps:

In the Affiliate Marketing app, go to Coupons & Reward > Customer discounts.
Click Modify rules in the Discount module.
Select the Discount type that customers will enjoy when entering the store through the affiliate link:
- Percentage: Customers receive a percentage discount.
- Fixed amount: Customers receive a specified discount amount.
- Buy X get Y: Customers receive a discount on or get free Y item(s) when they purchase X item(s).
- Free Shipping: Customers receive free shipping on their orders.
- None: Customers have no additional discounts and will not see additional discount information.
Once you've chosen a discount type, customize its settings further:
- Percentage Discount:
  - Discount settings: Specify the percentage discount value.
  - Discount requirements: Set the conditions customers must meet to use this discount.
    - None: No minimum purchase required. Customers can enjoy the discount on any item.
    - Minimum item quantity: Customers must purchase a specific number of items to qualify for the discount.
    - Minimum purchase amount: Customers must spend a certain amount to qualify for the discount.
- Fixed Amount Discount:
  - Fixed amount settings: Specify the fixed discount amount.
  - Discount requirements: Set the conditions customers must meet to use this discount.
    - None: No minimum purchase required. Customers can enjoy the discount on any item.
    - Minimum item quantity: Customers must purchase a specific number of items to qualify for the discount.
    - Minimum purchase amount: Customers must spend a certain amount to qualify for the discount.
- Buy X Get Y Discount:
  - Starting item: Define the criteria for the items the customer must purchase (e.g., specific product, product category, minimum order value, or minimum order quantity).
  - Receiving item: Set the reward the customer will receive once they meet the criteria (e.g., number of reward items, specific reward product(s), or product category).
  - Discount type: Choose the discount type (percentage off, fixed amount discount, or free item) and configure the discount values. You can also set the maximum number of times this discount can be applied to a single order.
- Free Shipping Discount:
  - Discount Requirements:
    - None: No minimum purchase required. Customers can enjoy free shipping on any order.
    - Minimum item quantity: Customers must purchase a specific number of items to qualify for free shipping.
    - Minimum purchase amount: Customers must spend a certain amount to qualify for free shipping.
  - Specific Regions:
    - All countries and regions: Applies to all countries and regions.
    - Specific countries and regions: Applies only to selected countries and regions.
    - Exclude shipping rates over a specified amount: Set a maximum limit for the order amount to which this free shipping discount applies. If the shipping cost exceeds this limit, the discount will not be applied.
- None: Select this option if you want to keep the base discount as is, without any modifications.
For any of the above discounts, you can configure whether they can be stacked with other automatic discounts offered by the store.
Once done, click Update to save your settings.

Setting Up Specific Group Discounts

You can establish exclusive discounts for specific affiliate groups. Once you've set a specific group discount, customers visiting your store through the affiliate link will view the discounts associated with that affiliate, replacing the general discounts.

Adding a Specific Group Discount

In the Affiliate Marketing app, go to Coupons & Reward > Customer discounts.
Click Add discount in the Specify group discount module.
In the Specify commission group module, search for and select the specific commission group(s) for discount configuration.

- You can choose from any approved commission groups.
- You can set a designated discount for up to 10 commission groups simultaneously.
- Each commission group can have only one designated discount. If a group already has a discount, its name will appear grayed out and unselectable in the dropdown menu.

Select the Discount type customers will receive when entering the store through the affiliate link. Definitions of these discount types are the same as those outlined in step 3 of the Setting Up Discounts section.
Once you've chosen a discount type, you can further customize its settings as explained in step 4 of the Setting Up Discounts section.
For any of the above discounts, you can configure whether they can be stacked with other automatic discounts offered by the store.
Click Create to save the settings.

Editing a Specific Group Discount

In the Affiliate Marketing app, go to Coupons & Reward > Customer discounts.
Locate the group for which you want to edit discount settings and click the pencil icon in the Action column.
While the discount type cannot be changed, you can modify the other settings for the group discount.

Note: To change the discount type for the specific group, you must delete the group and create a new one.
Click Update to save the changes.

Deleting a Specific Group Discount

In the Affiliate Marketing app, go to Coupons & Reward > Customer discounts.
Locate the group you want to delete and click the trash bin icon in the Action column.
In the pop-up window, click Delete to confirm the deletion.

Setting Up Specific Affiliate Discounts

You have the option to create exclusive discounts for specific affiliates. When configuring a Specific affiliate discount, customers who access your store through that affiliate's link will receive the designated affiliate discount instead of the base discount or any specific group discount.

Adding a Specific Affiliate Discount

In the Affiliate Marketing app, go to Coupons & Reward > Customer discounts.
Click Add discount in the Specific affiliate discounts module.
In the Select affiliate module, search for and select the specific affiliate(s) for discount configuration.
- You can choose from any approved affiliates.
- You can set designated discounts for up to 10 affiliates simultaneously.
- If you select affiliates who already have designated affiliate discounts, you will receive a pop-up warning about the duplicates.
Select the Discount type customers will receive when entering the store through the affiliate link. Definitions of the discount types are the same as those outlined in step 3 of the Setting Up Discounts section.
Once you've chosen a discount type, you can further customize its settings as explained in step 4 of the Setting Up Discounts section.
For any of the above discounts, you can configure whether they can be stacked with other automatic discounts offered by the store.
Click Create to save the settings.

Editing a Specific Affiliate Discount

In the Affiliate Marketing app, go to Coupons & Reward > Customer discounts.
Locate the affiliate for whom you want to edit discount settings and click the pencil icon in the Action column.
While the discount type cannot be changed, you can modify the other settings for the affiliate discount.

Note: To change the discount type for the specific affiliate, you must delete that affiliate and create a new one.
Click Update to save the changes.

Deleting a Specific Affiliate Discount

In the Affiliate Marketing app, go to Coupons & Reward > Customer discounts.
Locate the affiliate you want to delete and click the trash bin icon in the Action column.
In the pop-up window, click Delete to confirm the deletion.

Tips

If you have set a Basic discount, Specific group discounts, or Specific affiliate discounts in the discount section, customers who enter the store through an affiliate's link will see a pop-up window displaying a discount code shared by the affiliate. Customers can copy this discount code and apply it to the cart page or checkout page. If you have enabled Discount code tracking under Settings > Transaction fee calculation and selected Automatically apply affiliate discount code in checkout when users visit your store through referral links, then this discount will be automatically applied at the checkout page.
After you set up a Basic discount, Specific group discounts, or Specific affiliate discounts, the affiliate system will automatically generate a discount code for you. You can see this discount code on the Discount Codes page. Please don't modify or delete affiliate marketing discount codes in the discount code admin to avoid errors.
