Once you've created a pop-up in the SHOPLINE admin panel, your customers will see it when they enter your store or a selected page.
Pop-ups can be used for various purposes such as collecting subscription information, promoting special campaigns, creating a festive vibe, offering free shipping, and retaining customers. You can customize the form to match your brand style and enhance conversion rates at every step of the shopping experience, while also capturing potential customer information and boosting sales for your store.

Tips for Using Pop-ups
Please check out the following tips before you create a pop-up:
- Pop-ups can be used to gather customer information (such as email, phone number, and birthday) or issue coupon codes.
- Each store can have multiple active pop-ups. If you have set up multiple pop-ups to be active simultaneously, they will appear in reverse chronological order based on the last update. The pop-up you saved last will be displayed first.
- The coupon code copy button within the pop-up only allows customers to copy the code; it does not automatically apply the code.
- You can view all the pop-ups you have configured in the pop-up list. The names you assign to the pop-ups are only visible in the list, but not in your store. Your customers will not see these names.
- In the pop-up list, you can perform batch operations on the pop-ups, such as enabling, pausing, or deleting them. If the selected pop-up has not yet reached its starting time or has already expired, you will not be able to enable or pause it.
Pop-up Templates
To cater to your different business scenarios, pop-up promotion offers eight pop-up types for you:
- Subscription pop-up
- Coupon pop-up
- Festival pop-up
- Customer retention pop-up
- Lucky wheel pop-up
- Free shipping pop-up
- Product recommendation pop-up
- Promotion pop-up
Each type of pop-up includes multiple templates with diverse styles.
Your customers can see the active pop-ups you have set within your store.
Creating Pop-ups
Steps:
- Go to Pop-up App or download the App here.
- Hover your mouse over the Subscription pop-up style on the pop-up list page and click on Create.
If there are multiple templates available for the pop-up campaign type, choose the template you prefer and click on Confirm.
- Enter the name of the pop-up.
- Configure the pop-up campaign according to your preferred settings.
- Click Add to create a pop-up.
Different pop-up templates have different configuration modules. By configuring these modules, your customers can fill in personal information, obtain coupon codes, or minimize the pop-up into a floating card. Additionally, your pop-ups will be effective at different times, targeted toward different customers, and displayed on different pages at various time intervals.
The following subsection will explain the configurations and features of specific modules:
Floating Card
Pop-ups that include this configuration module: Subscription pop-up (most templates), Coupon pop-up (some templates), Festival pop-up (all templates), Customer retention pop-up (all templates), and Free shipping pop-up (all templates).
Configuration Steps:
- Select the display time of the floating card.
- Enter a title: This text will appear on the floating card.
- Choose the position for the floating card.
- You can choose to display the floating card on either mobile devices or the desktop.
- Click on the square to select how the floating card is displayed: rotate and align with the page's edge, or normal horizontal display.
- After choosing the position for the floating card, you can adjust the distance from the bottom or the side to avoid overlapping with other components.
Note: If you select Before pop-up as the timing for displaying the floating card, please be aware that it will appear just before the pop-up is pushed. For example, if you configure the Push settings > Timing as After a certain time > Push after 5 seconds, and set the timing for displaying the floating card as Before pop-up, the teaser will be displayed on the page five seconds after your customers enter it. They need to click on the card to show the pop-up. |
Information Collection
The pop-ups that have this configuration feature include Subscription pop-up (all templates) and Customer retention pop-up (all templates).
You can click the + Add form fields button in the Contents before submission section to select the customer information you want to collect.
To ensure that your customers experience the intended pop-up effect, we suggest limiting the collection of information to a maximum of 3-5 fields per pop-up:
- Common Information
-
- SHOPLINE has prepared five commonly used pieces of information for you, including email, telephone No., last name, first name, and birthday.
- After selecting the customer information you want to collect, you can inform customers about the data being collected by filling in a guide text.
- You can also make certain information required for customers. If selected, customers must fill in the information before submitting the pop-up.
-
Customized Information
- If the common information doesn't meet your needs, you can click the + Add form fields button and click Add new field at the bottom to customize the information you want to collect.
- You must determine how you will present the information you wish to collect to your customers:
New Field Type | Customer View in Pop-up | Information Can Be Collected |
Single-line of text | A text input box |
Customers' answers are textual and may vary greatly. For example, occupation. |
Multiline text | A large text input box |
Customers' answers are longer texts and may vary greatly. For example, feedback or suggestions. |
Drop down list | A drop-down selection box |
Most customer answers will be limited to a few fixed options, as allowing custom inputs might be too cumbersome. For example, refund reason. The answer options may include "I don't want it anymore", "I entered an incorrect address", and "Temporarily out of stock by the seller". The number of answer options recommended is between two and six. |
Single choice | With multiple options, customers can only choose one. |
It requires customers to make a unique choice. For example, how likely are you to recommend SHOPLINE to your friends? The answer options may include 1 point, 2 points, 3 points, 4 points, or 5 points. The number of answer options recommended is six or more. |
Multiple options | With multiple options, customers need to select at least one. |
It allows customers to make non-unique choices, selecting multiple options. For example, what are your favorite products? The answer options may include short sleeves, shirts, hoodies, coats, jeans, skirts, and dresses. The number of answer options recommended is six or more. |
Date | Three input boxes for year, month, and date. |
Customers' answers are dates. For example, birthday. |
Number | A text input box |
Customers' answers are numbers. For example, contact information. |
