After creating a free gift campaign in the SHOPLINE admin panel, customers can view the corresponding campaign when they visit the product detail page in your store. Upon meeting the qualifying conditions, customers can select their preferred free gift from the shopping cart and proceed with checkout. You can set different free gifts for varying qualifying conditions, and a free gift campaign can effectively enhance user conversion rates and increase the average transaction value.

Explanation of Free Gift Campaign Discount Rules
Description of discount calculations for free gift campaigns and types of campaigns that support stacking:
- The free gift campaign is calculated based on the selling price of the products. When a customer's selected products meet the free gift campaign discount threshold, the customer can choose corresponding free gifts.
- Once customers have taken part in a free gift campaign, they can further combine it with time-limited promotions, automatic discounts, and discount code campaigns for the relevant products.
- Free gift items won't be eligible for any other promotional campaigns.
Note: Starting from December 6, 2023, a product set from multiple product sales, add-on items, and after-sales discount campaigns can be stacked with free gift campaigns. If a customer adds a product set to the shopping cart and the quantity or total amount fulfills the conditions for a free gift campaign, the customer is considered eligible for the campaign. |
Creating Free Gift Campaigns
Steps to create a free gift campaign:
- Access the Gift Offer app and click Create on the Campaign list page.
- In the Campaign title section, enter a custom campaign name.
Note: The campaign name will be displayed in your store, allowing your customers to see it within the store (product detail page, shopping cart, checkout page, etc.). |
- In the Offer requirements section, proceed with the following settings:

- Choose Unlimited and specify the quantity of gifts to be given. This allows customers to select the corresponding number of free gifts with no minimum requirement upon ordering.
- Opt for Minimum purchase amount and set the qualifying amount for customers to receive the free gift; when meeting the criteria, customers can choose the specified number of free gifts. You can implement tiered promotions to offer different free gifts based on various spending thresholds and set them to uncapped to encourage bulk purchases.
- Opt for Minimum quantity of items and specify the product quantity customers must buy to qualify for the free gift; post-meeting the criteria, eligible customers can select the specified number of free gifts. You can apply tiered promotions to cater to varying customer segments and set up an uncapped feature to promote higher-volume purchases.
- Tiers Settings: If you desire concurrent application of multiple tier-based free gift campaigns when specifying purchase amounts or quantities, enable the Supports tiered stack option.
- With this enabled, when customers fulfill the higher tier threshold, they can sequentially select free gifts within that threshold and lower ones.
- For instance: If Tier 1 stipulates 1 gift for every 1 item purchased, and Tier 2 offers 2 gifts for every 2 items purchased, upon meeting the requirements for Tier 2, customers can choose 1 gift from Tier 1 and 2 gifts from Tier 2, obtaining a total of 3 gifts.
- Without this option enabled, customers can only select gifts corresponding to the currently met highest threshold.
- With this enabled, when customers fulfill the higher tier threshold, they can sequentially select free gifts within that threshold and lower ones.

- For instance: If Tier 1 stipulates 1 gift for every 1 item purchased, and Tier 2 offers 2 gifts for every 2 items purchased, upon fulfilling the requirements for Tier 2, customers can select 2 gifts from Tier 2, totalling 2 gifts.

- In the Applies to section, select the products for which this free gift campaign applies:

- Choose All products: All the products in your store will be eligible for this free gift campaign.
- Select Specific product category: Only the product categories you choose will participate in this free gift campaign. Click Select a category, check the relevant categories, and then click Select.
- Opt for Specific product: Only the products you select will be included in this free gift campaign. Click Select product(s), check the relevant ones, and then click Add.
- In the Method of adding gifts section, proceed with the following settings:

Manually select: Customers need to manually select the gift when clicking Buy Now on the shopping cart page or the product detail page.
- Default support for customers to choose gifts in the shopping cart: Customers can only select gifts on the shopping cart page. After meeting any gifting threshold, they can click on the free gift campaign banner in the cart to choose the corresponding quantity of gifts.
- Selecting gifts when clicking Buy Now on the product detail page: When customers click Buy Now on the product detail page and meet the gifting conditions, a popup prompts them to choose gifts before proceeding to the checkout page.

Automatically add gifts: The system will automatically add gifts to the shopping cart or checkout page, and customers don't need to select or modify the gifts.
- Default support for automatically adding gifts to the shopping cart: Gifts will only be automatically added to the shopping cart and won't be automatically included on the checkout page. If customers directly proceed to checkout by clicking Buy Now, the gifts won't appear automatically on the corresponding checkout page.
- Automatically adding gifts on the checkout page: After setup, gifts will be automatically added to the checkout page. If customers directly proceed to checkout by clicking Buy Now, the gifts will automatically appear on the corresponding checkout page.

Manually select: Customers need to manually select the gift when clicking Buy Now on the shopping cart page or the product detail page.
- In the Campaign schedule section, you can set the effective dates for the free gift campaign. You can perform the following actions:

- If you wish to set an end date for the campaign, uncheck No expiration and set the end date for the free gift campaign.
- If you don't want the free gift campaign to expire, avoid setting the effective date and keep No expiration checked.
- Click Create.
Key Considerations for Creating Free Gift Campaigns
When creating a free gift campaign, please take note of the following:
- Each product can only have one active free gift campaign at a time. If you set up multiple free gift campaigns for different products, customers can choose the free gifts within the corresponding campaign when they meet the relevant criteria.
- You can set different tiers for the free gift campaign, with up to 10 free gifts available in each tier. Customers can select from these options when they meet the criteria.
- If you don't set the free gifts to be automatically added, the shopping cart will display thumbnails of the free gifts and a selection reminder to customers. Customers need to make a choice, and only then will the corresponding order include the free gifts.
- If a customer has selected fewer free gifts than the eligible quantity, they can click on the free gift selection reminder in the shopping cart to choose the free gifts.
- If the selected free gifts become invalid, they will be removed, and the customer can re-select the items from the free gift selection reminder in the shopping cart.
- Customers may not be able to select free gifts if they proceed directly to the checkout page. If you have set the method of adding free gifts to be Manually select, you can enable customers to choose free gifts by clicking Buy Now on the product detail page when they meet the criteria. This setting allows customers to trigger the free gift selection pop-up by clicking Buy Now and then proceeding to checkout. If the method of adding free gifts is set to Automatically add gifts, selecting the option to automatically add free gifts to the checkout page will result in the free gifts being added automatically when the customer meets the criteria on the checkout page.
Free Gift Campaign List
After creating a free gift campaign, you can manage and access the editing page of any campaign within the free gift campaign list.
The list displays basic information about the campaigns, including the following:
- Under the Campaign name column, you can view the title of the corresponding free gift campaign.
- In the Offer requirements column, you can see the giving conditions of the corresponding free gift campaign. If your campaign has multiple tiers, the giving conditions for each tier will be displayed here.
- In the Gift with purchase column, you can view the images of the gifts associated with the campaign.
- In the Gifts given column, you can see the quantity of gifts already granted for the respective campaign. If orders related to the free gift campaign are canceled, the granted gift count will be correspondingly reduced.
- In the Active time column, you can view the campaign's effective period, including the start and end times.

In the Status column, you can check the current status of the campaign.
- Active: The activity is in progress.
- Scheduled: The activity hasn't started yet.
- Expired: The activity has ended.
Editing Free Gift Campaigns
At any point, you can modify the configurations of a free gift campaign by selecting the campaign from the free gift campaign list. This allows you to edit the campaign title, gifts across various tiers, applicable products, campaign tier settings, gift addition methods, automatic gift allocation, campaign duration, and custom styles.
Note: Once the gifting conditions are set, they can't be modified, but adjustments can be made to the associated gifts. |
Steps to edit a campaign:
- Go to the Gift Offer app, search or select the campaign you want to edit from the list, and click to enter the editing page.
- After making adjustments, click Update. Your store will display the latest activity information, and customers browsing your store will see the updated activity information.
- You can also disable the corresponding free gift campaign at any time. Simply click Disable on the campaign settings page. The disabled campaign will no longer be displayed in the store. At the same time, the end time of the activity will be adjusted to the time it is disabled.
Note: Orders that have already been placed won't be affected by the updated campaign, and the gifts already enjoyed by customers will remain unaffected. However, for items added to the cart or on the checkout page but not yet settled, the updated campaign information will apply. |
Display Style of Free Gifts in the Store
You can configure the display of the free gift campaign on the product detail page and in the shopping cart, allowing customers to view and choose their free gifts.
Steps to set the display style of free gift campaigns in the store:
- Access the Gift Offer app and go to the campaign creation or editing page. Click the Edit button in the Custom style section.
- In the Product detail page module, set the text and style of the free gift banner, as well as the text for the Add to cart button.
- In the Shopping cart module, set the text and style for the cart activity banner, as well as the text for the activity tag.
- In the Gift selection pop-up window module, configure the pop-up window name, and whether to display the activity duration, banner text, and color.
