Integrating Reddit Ads with SHOPLINE
SHOPLINE now supports integration with the Reddit advertising platform, helping you improve ad targeting and conversion performance. By integrating with Reddit, you can sync user behavior data from your store—such as product views, add-to-carts, and purchases—directly to Reddit Ads. Combined with the product feed, this enables dynamic, product-level ad campaigns that effectively boost conversion rates and remarketing performance.
This article introduces Reddit, outlines its key benefits, and explains how to complete the integration setup within SHOPLINE.
Understanding the Reddit Advertising Platform
Reddit ranks among the world’s top 10 most-visited social platforms and hosts thousands of interest-driven communities with highly engaged, loyal users. Its advertising platform supports native ads, behavioral targeting, and dynamic product ads, making it especially effective for remarketing to mid- to high-intent users.
Key Benefits of Advertising on Reddit
- Highly Engaged User Base: Reddit fosters deep discussions and active user search behavior, increasing ad credibility and engagement.
- Dynamic Ad Retargeting: Ads are automatically pushed based on user behavior, enabling more precise and effective remarketing.
- Enhanced Ad Strategy: Expands visibility and improves return on ad spend (ROAS) by complementing existing channels such as Meta, Google, and TikTok.
Connecting Reddit to SHOPLINE
To integrate Reddit with your SHOPLINE store, complete the following steps. Detailed instructions for each are provided below:
Configuring User Behavior Data Reporting
Once configured, SHOPLINE will automatically report user behavior events from your store to Reddit Ads, eliminating the need to manually embed tracking codes. The system supports dual-channel data reporting via the Reddit Pixel (frontend) and the Conversion API (backend).
Binding Your Reddit Pixel ID
The Pixel is Reddit’s core frontend event tracking component. You must first create a Pixel in Reddit Ads Manager and bind it to SHOPLINE.
-
From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Channels and install Reddit.
-
Log in to your Reddit Ads Manager, go to the Pixel configuration tab, and copy your Pixel ID.
-
Return to SHOPLINE and paste the Pixel ID into the Tracking code ID (Pixel ID) field in the Reddit data tracking section. Click Bind now to complete the setup.
Once binding is successful, SHOPLINE will automatically report frontend events such as product views, add-to-carts, checkouts, and orders.
Binding the Reddit Conversion API Token (Recommended)
To improve data stability and resistance to ad blockers, SHOPLINE also supports backend event reporting via the Conversion API (CAPI). If you’ve obtained a Conversion API token from Reddit, follow these steps to bind it:
-
From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Channels > Reddit.
- Obtain the API token by following these steps:
2.1 Log in to your Reddit Ads Manager.
2.2 Navigate to Conversions API in the left sidebar and click Generate Access Token.
2.3 Enter a token name (e.g., reddit_capi) and click Generate.
3.4 Copy the generated token.
-
Return to SHOPLINE and paste both the Pixel ID and Access Token into the respective fields in the Reddit data tracking section. Then, click Bind now to complete the setup.

Syncing Your Product Feed to Reddit
To enable product-level remarketing on Reddit, you must configure the product feed. SHOPLINE’s Smart Feed supports one-click generation of an XML feed compatible with Reddit specifications. Follow these steps:
-
From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Channels > Reddit. Under Sync products to Reddit, click Go to Smart Feed.
-
In the Smart Feed app, go to the Google tab and locate (or create) the relevant Google Feed item.
Note: Reddit and Google share the same XML feed file.
-
Click the paper clip icon in the Action column.
-
In the pop-up window, locate the Reddit section and click Generate XML File Link. The system will generate a Reddit-compatible XML file using your current Google Feed settings.
-
Once the file is generated, a valid XML link will appear. Click Copy link, then paste it into Reddit Ads Manager under the Catalog settings to complete the feed integration.
Setting Catalog Permissions
Reddit’s dynamic product ads rely on the Catalog module. To ensure the feed setup and catalog creation work as expected, assign the required permissions in Reddit Business Manager:
-
Log in to Reddit Business Manager, then go to Business > Users.
-
Find your account in the Members panel and click Edit.
-
In the pop-up window, expand Advanced roles.
-
Check Catalog Manager to grant permission to view and manage all catalogs, then click Save.
Note: Without this permission, you will not be able to set up feeds or create product ads. |
