UPS Domestic Shipping Guidelines
A. Package Requirements
Ensure your parcel meets these UPS requirements:
- Maximum weight: 150 lb (68 kg)
- Maximum single dimension: 108 in (274 cm) on any side
- Maximum combined length and girth: 165 in (419 cm)
For more details, view the full UPS requirements.
B. Packaging Guidelines
Prepare your package according to the following requirements:
- Use strong packaging with enough space for cushioning to protect fragile items and prevent shifting.
- Secure all seams with 2-inch-wide packing tape. (Do not wrap boxes with string, cord, or twine, as these can get caught in UPS sorting equipment.)
- When reusing boxes, remove or cover any old logos, barcodes, shipping labels, or addresses.
Refer to UPS's packaging tips to learn how to pack correctly.
C. Prohibited Items
UPS does not accept dangerous or restricted items for shipment. Please review the list of prohibited items carefully and ensure your parcels do not contain any prohibited items before shipping with UPS.
Dropping Off Your Packages
Pickups are not available with UPS. You can drop off your packages at any UPS location convenient for you.
Return Label Validity and Cancellation
Return labels may expire if not used for a period of time after creation. To avoid resource waste from invalid labels, any label not used within 25 days of creation will be automatically canceled. If you still need to arrange a return, create a new return label and remind your customer to ship the package within 25 days.
Basic Liability Coverage from UPS
UPS provides basic liability coverage for lost or damaged shipments:
- UPS Ground: Coverage up to $100 USD
If a UPS shipment sent via SHOPLINE Shipping is lost or damaged, you are advised to file a claim with UPS within 60 days of the shipping date.
If the recipient has already received the package, ask them to retain the original box, packaging, and any damaged items for inspection. UPS may require an inspection of the item and original packaging as part of the damage claim process.
| Disclaimer: SHOPLINE acts as a technical service provider to provide you with logistics solutions. SHOPLINE does not participate in the actual transportation of goods, and therefore assume no liability for logistics services. The sole responsibility for logistics transportation rests with the selected logistics partner. |
Calculating UPS Shipping Rates
Shipping rates are determined based on SHOPLINE's account with UPS.
-
Parcel weight is calculated using either the actual weight or the dimensional (DIM) weight, whichever is greater.
Note: The DIM weight is calculated as: DIM Weight (kg) = (Height × Width × Length) in cm ÷ 8000. - UPS measures both the actual and dimensional weight at its distribution center and charges the shipping fee based on the higher value.
