Frequently Asked Question
Q1: Why are some products missing categories after migration?
A1: This may occur due to differences between the category taxonomies of the source platform and SHOPLINE.
You may:
- Export product data from both platforms and compare category fields
- Update the category in the source platform and run an overwrite migration
- Or filter products with “No Product Category” in SHOPLINE and update them manually
SHOPLINE uses the Google product taxonomy. You can download the full category list to help with mapping and selection.
Q2: Why did a smart collection fail to migrate?
A2: If a smart collection includes a product category condition that cannot be recognized or matched, the collection creation will fail.
It is recommended to update or remove the category condition in the source platform before retrying migration.
Q3: Can I edit product categories after migration?
A3: Yes, you can manually update product categories in your SHOPLINE Admin at any time.
