Managing Store SEO Settings
Store SEO settings control how your storefront appears in search engine results. Proper SEO configuration can help improve storefront discoverability and provide customers with clearer information before they visit your store.
This article explains how to configure your storefront’s page title and meta description from the SEO settings section.
Accessing Store SEO Settings
- From your SHOPLINE admin, go to Online Store > Preferences.
In the SEO settings section, click Edit.
The Search engine optimization window will appear. allowing you to preview how your store appears in search results and update the Page Title and Meta Description.
Understanding Store SEO Settings
The SEO settings include:
- Preview: Displays how your storefront may appear in search engine results.
- Page Title: Controls the title displayed for your storefront in search engine results.
- Meta description: Controls the summary text displayed below the page title in search engine results.

Configuring Store SEO Settings
You can configure your storefront’s search engine title, description, and keywords from the Search engine optimization window. These settings help control how your storefront appears in search engine results.
Page Title
In the Page Title field, enter the title you want search engines to display for your storefront.
The page title typically appears as the clickable title in search engine results. A clear and recognizable title can help customers better identify your storefront before visiting it.
When configuring your page title:
- Keep the title concise and easy to understand
- Include your brand or store name when appropriate
- Avoid excessive keyword repetition
Meta Description
In the Meta description field, enter a short summary describing your storefront and offerings.
The meta description may appear below the page title in search engine results and can help customers better understand your storefront before clicking the link.
When writing a meta description:
- Clearly summarize your storefront or products
- Keep the description natural and readable
- Avoid excessive keyword repetition
The meta description field supports up to 320 characters.
Updating SEO Settings
After updating your SEO settings, click Confirm to save your changes.
Search engines may not update search result previews immediately after changes are saved. Cached search results may take time to refresh depending on the search engine platform.
