Important Notice: Understanding Analytics Data Retention Changes
SHOPLINE is changing how far back you can view historical data in your store analytics. Sales, order, and financial data will be kept for the most recent 5 years, while visitor, traffic, conversion, and behavior data will be kept for the most recent 3 years. If you use older data for business reviews or financial reconciliation, save it before the change.
This guide explains which reports and pages are affected, when the change takes effect, and how to save the data you need.
| Important: This change is expected to take effect on December 28, 2026. After that, data older than its retention period will no longer be available and can’t be recovered. Save any data you need before then. |
Understanding the New Data Retention Periods in Store Analytics
How long data is kept depends on the type of data:
You can still view all data within these periods as usual. Data older than these periods will no longer appear in your reports or on the related admin pages.
For example: If you open a sales report in January 2027, you’ll see sales data from January 2022 onward. A traffic report opened on the same day will show data from January 2024 onward.
Some pages include both types of data: On Home and Live View, order and sales metrics are kept for 5 years, while visitor and conversion metrics are kept for 3 years.
Reports and Pages with a 5-Year Data Retention Period
The following pages and reports keep sales, order, and financial data for the most recent 5 years:
| Location | Affected reports or data | Reference Screenshot |
| Home | Data section: order count, sales, and units sold | |
| Orders > order details | Customer journey |
|
| Analytics > Reports > Sales |
|
|

|
|
| Analytics > Live View | Order count and sales |
Reports and Pages with a 3-Year Data Retention Period
The following pages and reports keep visitor, traffic, conversion, and behavior data for the most recent 3 years:
| Location | Affected reports or data | Reference Screenshot |
| Home | Data section: visitor count and conversion rate | |
| Analytics > Reports > Actions |
|

|
| Analytics (overview page) | Conversion rate analytics | |

Saving Your Analytics Data Before the Retention Change
If you need sales, order, or financial data older than 5 years, or visitor, traffic, conversion, or behavior data older than 3 years, save it before December 28, 2026.

The change is expected to take effect on December 28, 2026. If the timeline changes, we’ll let you know in a follow-up notice.
Q2: Can I view data older than the retention period after the change?
No. Once the change takes effect, data older than its retention period will no longer be available and can’t be recovered. Save any data you need in advance.
Q3: Do I need to do anything if I don’t use older data?
No. Your reports will work as usual and show data within the new retention periods.
Q4: Why do metrics on the same page have different retention periods?

Q5: How do I export data from analytics reports?
Open the report, set the Date range, and click Export data. For pages or metrics that can’t be exported, take screenshots instead.
Q6: What if exporting doesn’t meet my needs?
Contact SHOPLINE online support or your account manager before the change takes effect. Let us know which reports you need, the date range, and how you plan to use the data.
