Smart Ads points are a virtual currency used to pay for commission fees incurred while using Smart Ads subscription services. The commission fee is a percentage of your advertising spending, depending on your chosen plan. By topping up points, you ensure your ads continue running smoothly without interruption.

Why You Need Top-up Points

Smart Ads plans (Novice, Starter, Basic, Standard, and Enterprise) have different commission rates. When you run ads, a commission fee is applied based on your spending and your chosen plan. This fee is deducted from your points balance. To keep your ads running smoothly, you can top up points to cover these commission fees.



How to Purchase Points

  1. From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Apps > Smart Ads

  2. In the app, click the button of your current plan in the upper right corner.

  3. On the My plan page, go to the Points section and click Buy Points.
Important: Maintain a sufficient points balance to avoid disruption to your ads. If your points balance reaches zero, your ads will continue running for 14 days (including the current day). However, during this time you cannot create new ads or change account settings (except for account unlinking). After 14 days of zero points, you will only be able to unlink your account (except for Trial and Starter plans).



Points Purchasing and Deducting Rules

  • Purchase
    • 1 USD = 100 points. We convert the top-up amount into points to deduct system-deducting fees (advertisement commission fees).
    • Example: If you top-up 100 USD, you will receive 10,000 points in your system.
  • Deduction
    • The commission fee for advertising spending generated on a given day will be charged on the following day based on the agreed-upon commission rate.
    • Calculation formula: Commission fee = Commission rate × advertising spending.
    • Example: You subscribe to the Standard plan with a current commission rate of 0.5% and you have 1,000 points in your account. On July 6, 2023, you generated an advertising spending of 100 USD. Smart Ads will deduct commission fee from you on July 7, 2023: 100 USD × 0.5% = 0.5 USD, converted into points is 50 points. Therefore, on July 7, 2023, 50 points will be deducted from your account, leaving a balance of 950 points in your account.



Viewing Points Details

You can view the details of your points consumption by following these steps:

  1. In the Smart Ads app, click on the button of your current plan in the upper right corner.

  2. On the My plan page, go to the Points section and click Points Detail.

  3. You can easily access a comprehensive record of all your points activities on the Points Detail page.



Deductions and Refunds

If you have the following situations, please contact your dedicated merchant success manager for assistance:

  • You want to use points to deduct the cost of the subscription plan.
  • If you cancel your Smart Ads subscription and have remaining points, you can request a refund.
