Below we take the instruction steps for buying Cloudflare SSL as an example:
Step 1: Subscribe to Cloudflare service
1. Enter the website https: //www. cloudflare.com/ssl/ and sign up an account.
2. Enter the domain name you would like to have SSL certificate on, then click "Add site".
3. Select a plan based on your needs, and click "Continue".
4. Check the bill and complete the payment.
Step 2: Setup SSL certificate for Root Domain
After you subscribed to Cloudflare service, please follow below instructions to carry on the setup:
1. CNAME record for Root domain
- In your DNS record, click [Add record]
- Choose [CNAME] as the [Type]
- Set [@] as the [Name]
- Set your domain name (i.e domain name: phoenix1.myshopline.com) as [Target]
- Set the Proxy status to "DNS only"
- Click [Save]
2. CNAME record for sub domain
- In your DNS record, click [Add record]
- Choose [CNAME] as the [Type]
- Set [www] as the [Name]
- Set your domain name (i.e domain name: phoenix1.myshopline.com) as [Target]
- Set the Proxy status to "DNS only"
- Click [Save]
After you added above 2 CNAME records, your DNS should include the records as per below:
3. Scroll down and look for [Cloudflare Nameservers], copy the value
4. Log in to the portal you purchase the domain, look for settings to manage domain name server or modify DNS, paste the value you copied:
Step 3: Setup domain in SHOPLINE admin panel
- To SHOPLINE Admin, [Settings] > [Domain name]
- Click [Manage domain]
- Click "Add a domain name"
- Enter the root domain (i.e: domain.com, do not enter www) > [Create]
- Repeat above step, enter subdomain (i.e: www.domain.com) > [Create]
- Back to [Domain management] tab, click [Change the primary domain name] > Choose the root domain you set earlier
Note:
- If the DNS records have been set inaccurately, an error would be display as per below. Please update the records accordingly, and click [Verify again] to retry.
