Choosing Your Checkout Process

You can choose an appropriate checkout process based on your store's needs to improve the checkout conversion rate or efficiency. At present, SHOPLINE offers two checkout processes: 3-page checkout (standard checkout) and 1-page checkout (one checkout page). For more information about page customization, refer to Customizing Your Store Checkout Pages.

3-page Checkout

This is the standard checkout that requires customers to complete their checkout by providing customer information, shipping information, and payment information sequentially on separate pages. It works well for stores featuring various product categories, high average order values, and diverse marketing strategies, allowing you to monitor checkout funnel data.

  1. In the editor, click the palette icon from the left navigation bar, and choose 3-page checkout in the Checkout steps section.

  2. At the top middle of the editor, the dropdown menu provides three checkout pages for you to customize: Customer information page, Shipping information page, and Payment page.

  • Payment page. Customers choose whether to add a tip and select a payment method. If any information entered in the previous step is incorrect, they can return to the previous step to update it.

1-Page Checkout

The single-page checkout works well for merchants who rely on cash-on-delivery primarily and stores with low average order values.

  1. In the editor, click the palette icon from the left navigation bar, and choose 1-page checkout in the Checkout steps section.

  2. At the top middle of the editor, the dropdown menu provides the Single-page style option for you to customize. Customers fill in customer information, shipping information, and payment information all on this page.
