Verifying Your Domain with Google Search Console

Verifying your store with Google Search Console (GSC) helps optimize its visibility in Google Search by allowing Google to access and analyze your website. This guide explains how to verify your domain using the HTML tag verification method and complete the verification in your SHOPLINE Admin.

 

 

Verifying Your Domain in Google Search Console

In Google Search Console, follow these steps to create a property for your store, select the HTML tag verification method, and copy the generated verification code:

  1. Visit Google Search Console and click Start now.

  2. Select URL prefix as the property type, enter your store's full URL, and then click CONTINUE.

  3. In the Verify ownership pop-up, scroll to Other verification methods, select HTML tag, and copy the code inside content="xxxxx".

Completing Domain Verification in SHOPLINE Admin

After copying the verification code from Google Search Console, follow these steps in your SHOPLINE Admin to complete the verification.

  1. From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Channels > Google. In the Domain verification section, click Confirm now.

  2. Click Add Meta tag.

  3. Paste the verification code copied from Google Search Console, then click Save.

  4. Go to Settings > Basic settings > Store status, and confirm that your store status is Open. Google must be able to access your storefront for the verification to succeed.

  5. Return to Google Search Console and click VERIFY.

  6. If the verification is successful, an Ownership verified pop-up appears. Click Done to close the window.
