Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler: Customizing Product Bundles
You can use the Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler app to configure and sell multiple products together as a bundle. For example, instead of selling a T-shirt and a pair of trousers separately, you can combine them into a "Summer Outfit Set" and sell them as one bundle. This helps increase your average order value and provides customers with convenient, pre-packaged product combinations.
This article will guide you through creating product bundles, configuring bundle settings, and understanding how inventory and orders are processed for bundled products.
Creating a Bundle
The process for creating a bundle product is the same as creating a regular product. Follow these steps:
- In your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Products and click Create product in the upper-right corner.
-
On the product settings page, enter product details such as the name, images, and description. For detailed instructions, refer to the "Configuring Product Details and Attributes" guide
Note:
- Make sure the product title, image, and description clearly indicate that it is a bundle (e.g., "Summer Outfit Set – T-shirt + Trousers).
- You can also create different variants for the bundle product if needed.
-
Click Save to add the product once completed.
Setting Up the Bundle in the App
After creating the bundle product, go to the Product Option Customizer & Product Bundler app to set up the combination options for the bundle:
- In the app, go to Bundles and click Create bundle.
In the pop-up window, select the bundle product you want to configure and click Add.
-
On the settings page, configure the following:
- Add sub-SKU products: Click Select products, choose the SKU products to include in the bundle, and set the quantity for each.
- Price: Set a combo price for the bundle.
-
Stock: Configure inventory management rules for this bundle. For details, refer to the "Inventory Management for Product Bundles" guide.
Note: If your bundle has multiple variants, you can configure unique product combinations for each variant.
-
Click Add to complete the setup.
Managing the Bundles
Deactivating a Bundle Variant
To temporarily stop selling a bundle variant, toggle off the bundle status. You can reactivate it anytime.
Deleting a Bundle Variant
To completely remove a bundle or variant, click the trash bin icon to delete it.
Inventory and Order Handling
When a bundle is sold, inventory and logistics verification determine which product’s stock should be deducted and which items should be listed for shipping.
Depending on whether your store has joined the whitelisting program, inventory verification can be based either on the main bundle product or on the individual component products within the bundle.
Main Product-Based Logic (for Non-Whitelisted Stores)
By default, bundle inventory and logistics processing are managed based on the main (bundle) product.
Inventory verification
The system checks the stock of the bundle product as defined in its product settings and in the Product Bundler app. For details, refer to the "Inventory Management for Product Bundles" guide.
Checkout display
On the checkout page, both the bundle and its component products appear as separate line items. Each component product displays its own quantity and price (set to 0), allowing customers to view all included items individually.
Heads-up: Displaying both the bundle and its component products as separate line items may confuse customers or cause discrepancies in tax calculations. Ensure your product title clearly indicates that the component products are part of a single bundle to avoid misunderstandings.
Order details (backend)
In the admin order view, the bundle and its component products are listed separately. Store staff should note that only the component products need to be shipped, even though the bundle product also appears in the order for tracking purposes.
Heads-up: Since both the bundle and its component products appear in the order, staff may mistakenly ship the wrong product or adjust its inventory. Ensure your fulfillment team processes and ships only the component products listed in the order.
Component Product-Based Logic (for Whitelisted Stores)
For merchants approved for the whitelisting feature, inventory verification and logistics are managed at the component product level.
Note: The component product–based logic is available only for whitelisted stores. To enable it, please contact SHOPLINE Support.
Inventory verification
The system checks stock and fulfillment availability based on each component product within the bundle, referencing their individual product settings and locations instead of the main bundle product.
Checkout display
Customers will see the main bundle product with a dropdown arrow that expands to show all component products and their quantities. This clearly indicates that they are purchasing one bundle containing multiple items.
Order details (backend)
Only the component products are listed in the order for fulfillment and shipping. A link referencing the associated main bundle appears in the order to help staff identify which bundle the items belong to.
