Variants Combination: Creating Product Combos

The Variants Combination app allows you to create product combos to entice customers. These combos will appear together on the product details page, encouraging customers to explore related items and potentially increasing order values and conversions.

This guide will walk you through installing the app, creating combos, and managing key settings.

 

 

Installing the App

To install the app, follow these steps:

  1. From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Apps > Go to App Store.

  2. Search for Variants Combination and click Install.

  3. Optionally, pin the app to the Apps section in your admin panel for easy access.

Creating a Combo

Follow these steps to create a product combo: 

Note: If you are using a SHOPLINE OS 3.0 theme and would like to customize where this feature appears on the page, you can add the Variant combination app block to the Products page in the theme editor. For details on app block functions, setup steps, and which app features require app block support, refer to the Help Center article "Integrating Apps into OS 3.0 Themes."

  1. On the homepage of the app, click Create Combo.

  2. Enter a descriptive Combo name. 

  3. Configure the display settings, including the Option name, Alignment, Display type, and more. 

    Note: To display the combination option name in multiple languages, click the globe icon next to the Option name field and add translations in the UGC Multi-Language Visual Translator app. For detailed instructions, refer to "UGC Multi-Language Visual Translator: Adding and Managing Store Content Translations."

    If you select Multi-attribute selector style as the Display type, choose a Display field of Image, Palette, or Text. When Display field is Image or Palette, check Show option value on hover to display the option name when shoppers hover over it on the product details page. This checkbox is unchecked by default.

    Notes: 

    • This hover effect only appears on desktop, only applies when Display field is set to Palette or Image (Text already shows the option name), and requires an OS 3.0 official theme.
    • If you have enabled Show option name on hover, the preview will reflect this setting. The preview always displays the original option name you entered, even if translations have been configured for other languages.

  4. Adjust the combo's placement on your product page by clicking Theme Design in the Display section to access your theme editor.

  5. In the Combo products section, click Add products to choose products for your combo (2-15 items). You can also add inactive or on-hold products, but they won't be visible on the product details page.

    Note:A product can only belong to one combo at a time. Products already in a combo will not be available for selection.

  6. After adding the products, drag and drop them to arrange their order within the combo.

  7. Preview the settings for mobile and desktop devices in the right-hand panel.

  8. Once everything is configured, toggle on Enable variant combo and click Add to create the combo.

  9. Finally, toggle the Enabled switch in the Variants Combination list for the combo to take effect on your store.

Notes:If a product has multiple variants (sizes, colors, etc.), only the original SKU will be displayed in the combo. Variant-specific products won't be shown.
